The Order of Merit (Malay : Darjah Bakti) is a Malaysian federal award presented for those who have made significant contributions in art, science or humanity and are renowned at national and international level. [3] This award was instituted on 26 June 1975.

About the award

This order does not carry any title and is conferred on Malaysian citizens only. The recipients are those who have made significant contributions in art, science or humanity and are renowned at national and international level. This award is limited to ten living recipients only at any time and to date there have only been two recipients. It is worn around the neck.

The badge of the Order of Merit is round. On the surface is a white circle with the Malaysian Crest engraved in the centre and surmounted by the slogan "Bakti Untuk Negara" (English: Serve the Nation). The circle is enclosed by another circle and in between the two circles are five-pointed stars enclosed by a crescent moon. The badge suspends from a ribbon which has green and yellow stripes. The narrow stripes are yellow while the broader stripes are green.

Beginning in August 2006, David was the world number one for a record-breaking 108 consecutive months, finally ceding the ranking in September 2015 to Raneem El Weleily. She has won the World Open title a record 8 times in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2014, as well as the British Open title in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. In July 2016, she reached her 151st successive month in the top 10, breaking the record in both men's and women's categories. She surpassed Peter Nicol's previous records of 150 months.

Order of the Defender of the Realm Malaysian federal award

The Most Esteemed Order of the Defender of the Realm is a Malaysian federal award presented for meritorious service to the country. The Order Motto are 'Dipeliharakan Allah-Pangkuan Negara'.

Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang

The Darjah Utama Bakti Cemerlang is a Singaporean national honour instituted in 1968. It was created to replace the Pingat Bakti Chemerlang and is awarded to any person who has performed within Singapore any act or series of acts which constitute distinguished conduct. It may be awarded to people performing acts of distinguished conduct outside Singapore under special circumstances.

Mohd Khalil Yaakob

Tun Datuk Seri Utama Dr. Mohd Khalil bin Yaakob was the Yang di-Pertua Negeri (Governor) of the Malaysian state of Melaka. Khalil is a United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) politician from Pahang, and served as the state's Menteri Besar for more than 10 years. He was appointed as governor in 2004 by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The Most Excellent Order of the Star of Sarawak(lit: 'Darjah Yang Amat Gemilang Bintang Sarawak') was established by Charles Vyner Brooke, The Rajah of Sarawak, on 26 September 1928 as the highest order of chivalry within the Raj of Sarawak. The motto of the order was "Haraplah Sa-lagi Bernafas", which was also the Sarawak state motto, a translation of the Latin phrase Dum Spiro Spero, which literally means "As long as I breathe, I hope".

The Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak is the highest state order in the state of Sarawak. It is conferred to those who rendered excellent service towards the development of the state of Sarawak and Malaysia. The Order was established in 1964, a year after the Sarawak's independence within the formation of Malaysia. The history of the order can be traced back to 1928, where a similar order named Order of the Star of Sarawak was established by the Brooke Raj. However, the revived order has no connection with the previous order, except for the similarity of the name of the order. The motto of the Order is based on the state motto and the current one was adopted in 1988. The design of the order ribbon was changed twice, first in 1973 and again in 1988. The design follows the colors of the Sarawak flag: blue, red and white, and yellow, black and red. Both the Officer of the Star of Sarawak (JBS) and Officer of the Star of Hornbill Sarawak (JBS) share the same necklace design.

The Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak is the third-ranking order in the list of orders of the Sarawak State Orders, Decorations and Medals. The Order was instituted in 1997, and is limited to only 100 living recipients at one time. This order may be awarded to any civil servants or officers of statutory bodies that discharged their duties honourably and rendered excellent service to the State of Sarawak.

It was founded on 14 December 2002 to replace the abolished Order of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. The order is awarded to high-ranking individuals who have contributed excellence to the Sultan of Selangor and His Majesty's Government.

The Distinguished Order of Meritorious Service is a Malaysian federal award presented for meritorious service to the country.
