The following is the orders, decorations, and medals given by Governor / Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak. When applicable, post-nominal letters and non-hereditary titles are indicated. The presentation of the award was usually held at The Astana, the Governor's official residence.

For foreigners who received state orders or medal, the 'Honorary' post-nominal will be added after their name with 'H' (Honorary):

Orders, decorations, and medals

Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak (Most Exalted Order of the Star of Sarawak)

The history of this order could be traced back to the Brooke era, where a similar order was awarded by Rajah Brooke to recognize exceptional service to the Kingdom of Sarawak.[ citation needed ] However, the order became obsolete when Sarawak became British Crown Colony in 1946. Only in 1964, the Order was revived by the state government, and it was renamed as Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak (The Most Illustrious Order of the Star of Sarawak). In 1988, the Order was overhauled, and renamed for the second time as 'Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak' (Most Exalted Order of the Star of Sarawak). In 2003, in conjunction of the 40th Anniversary of Sarawak Independence, the Satria Bintang Sarawak (Knight Grand Commander of the Order of the Star of Sarawak) was instituted, with Former Malaysian PM Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud became its first recipients. Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak (Most Illustrious Order of the Star of Hornbill Sarawak)

There are 6 ranks for the Order above, which are:

Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak (D.J.B.S.) (Order of Meritorious Service to Sarawak)

This order only have one rank, and it is awarded to those who rendered exceptional services to the state. This Order is limited to 100 recipients at one time. The recipient of this award (both male and female) receives the title Datu

Pingat Pentadbiran Awam (Civil Administration Medal)

This medal is awarded to those who rendered exceptional services to the state or Federal Government in Civil Service. There are 4 ranks, which are:

Pingat Jasa Keberanian (Gallantry Service Medal)

This medal is awarded to the men and woman who served in the Armed Forces or Royal Malaysian Police, and performed an exceptional bravery and sacrifice in Sarawak. There are 3 ranks in this medal, which are:

During the investiture ceremony in conjunction with the Governor's Birthday on 14 September 2013,3 personnel were awarded with the Pingat Perwira Negeri (Gangsa). [7]

The Medals was usually presented by the Chief Minister, in presence of the State Secretary, at a ceremony.

Datuk Amar Michael Manyin anak Jawong is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tebedu from September 1996 to his retirement in December 2021. Tun Datuk Seri Utama Syed Ahmad bin Syed Mahmud Shahabuddin was a Malaysian politician. He was the Menteri Besar of Kedah from 1967 to 1978 and the fifth Yang di-Pertua Negeri (Governor) of Melaka state from 1984 until 2004, the longest-serving governor of Malacca.

Tuanku Bujang bin Tuanku Othman was a Malaysian politician who served as the 2nd Yang di-Pertua Negeri (Governor) of Sarawak from 1969 to 1977.

Tan Sri Dato' Lokman bin Yusof was the first Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia since it was officially conferred the status of a city on 1 February 1972. He formerly served as the Federal Capital Commissioner prior to his mayorship. Lokman died on 15 May 1972 and was succeeded by Yaacob Abdul Latiff.

The Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak is the highest state order in the state of Sarawak. It is conferred to those who rendered excellent service towards the development of the state of Sarawak and Malaysia. The Order was established in 1964, a year after Sarawak's independence with the formation of Malaysia. The history of the order can be traced back to 1928, where a similar order named Order of the Star of Sarawak was established by the White Rajahs. However, the revived order has no connection with the previous order, except for the similarity of the name of the order. The motto of the Order is based on the state motto and the current one was adopted in 1988. The design of the order ribbon was changed twice, first in 1973 and again in 1988. The design follows the colors of the Sarawakian flag: blue, red and white, and yellow, black and red. Both the Officer of the Star of Sarawak (JBS) and Officer of the Star of Hornbill Sarawak (JBS) share the same necklace design.

The Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak is the second highest order group of the orders, decorations, and medals of Sarawak. The order was instituted in 1970, and was redesigned in 1988. Two more ranks were added to the order: the 'Officer' in 1988 and the 'Companion' in 2002.

The Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak is the third-ranking order in the list of orders of the Sarawak State Orders, Decorations and Medals. The Order was instituted in 1997, and is limited to only 100 living recipients at one time. This order may be awarded to any civil servants or officers of statutory bodies that discharged their duties honourably and rendered excellent service to the State of Sarawak.
