Paso de Carrasco or Paso Carrasco is a city in the Canelones Department of Uruguay.
The Departamento de Canelones , with an area of 4,536 km2 (1,751 sq mi) and 518,154 inhabitants, is located in the south of Uruguay. Its capital is Canelones.

Paso Carrasco is also the name of the municipality to which the city belongs and which includes also Barra de Carrasco and the area of the International Airport.[ citation needed ]
Barra de Carrasco is a residential neighbourhood and resort of Ciudad de la Costa in Canelones, Uruguay. Its name means "mouth of the Carrasco Creek".
The city is located on Route 106 (Camino Carrasco), east of the stream Arroyo Carrasco. Across this stream it borders the Montevideo Department, to the southeast it borders the Ciudad de la Costa, while to the northeast is the Carrasco International Airport.

It was declared a city on 19 October 1994 and given its current name. At the 2011 census, it was the third most populated city of Uruguay.
Carrasco/General Cesáreo L. Berisso International Airport is the international airport of Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay. It also is the country's largest airport and is located in the namegiving Carrasco neighborhood located in the adjoining department of Canelones. It has been cited as one of the most efficient and traveler-friendly airports in Latin America and the world.
On 15 October 1963 its status was elevated to "Pueblo" (village) by the Act of Ley Nº 13.167. [1] On 19 October 1994, its status was further elevated to "Ciudad" (city) by the Act of Ley Nº 16.608. [2]
According to the 2011 census, Paso Carrasco had a population of 15,908. [3] In 2010, the Intendencia de Canelones had estimated a population of 19,775 for the municipality during the elections. [4] The official site of the Intendencia de Canelones states now a population of 22,688 for the municipality.
