Pella Township is one of twelve townships in Ford County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 160 and it contained 81 housing units. [1] It was formed as Clyde Township from a portion of Brenton Township on March 2, 1870; its name was changed to Pella Township on June 16, 1870.
According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Pella Township has a total area of 36.15 square miles (93.63 km2), all land. [2]
As of the 2020 census [1] there were 160 people, 92 households, and 69 families residing in the township. The population density was 4.43 inhabitants per square mile (1.71/km2). There were 81 housing units at an average density of 2.24 per square mile (0.86/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 89.38% White, 0.00% African American, 1.25% Native American, 1.25% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.88% from other races, and 6.25% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.00% of the population.
There were 92 households, out of which 8.70% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.74% were married couples living together, 3.26% had a female householder with no spouse present, and 25.00% were non-families. 13.00% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.50% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.98 and the average family size was 2.29.
