Peringolam is a village situated in the west of Peruvayal panchayath in Kozhikode district, Kerala. It is located two kilometers away from NH 766. This village is surrounded by Kunnamangalam, Kuttikkatoor, Kurikkathoor and Kottamparamb. [1] Peringolam is famous as a location for several important institutions including milma regional headquarter.

Etymology

The word Peringolam derived from two Malayalam words "Peru" means largest and "Kulam" means pond.

It is an educational service programme run by Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) Peringolam Unit. Marhama helps students with the distribution of study materials and scholarships. [12]

It is a common platform of all local political and social groups of Peringolam against narcotic materials. It conducted a Human chain programme on 2 October 2014 at Peringolam. [13]

PGM Soccer Lovers is a dynamic sports club founded by passionate youngsters from Peringolam Village. Dedicated to promoting football and community spirit, the club organizes exciting events such as Peringolam Super League (PSL) tournaments, skill challenges, and shootouts. The team has also made its mark on bigger stages, including the prestigious Big Event Keralaolsavam, where they clinched the Winner’s Trophy and earned numerous accolades. Their commitment to excellence and sportsmanship continues to inspire the local community.

Festivals

People's Arts and Sports Club is a vibrant youth collective dedicated to fostering arts, culture, and sports in Peringolam. Passionate about creativity and community spirit, the club organizes annual events, competitions, and cultural showcases, turning them into grand celebrations that unite people. Beyond the arts, the group actively promotes sports, encouraging fitness, teamwork, and local talent through various activities. Their dynamic approach has made them a driving force in enriching Peringolam’s cultural and athletic landscape.

Peringolam Super League (PSL) is an annual football tournament organized by PGM Soccer Lovers, bringing together the vibrant football community of Peringolam and beyond. Since its inception in 2021, the league has grown into a much-anticipated sporting event, featuring 200+ players from Peringolam and neighboring areas. More than just a competition, PSL fosters camaraderie, talent, and passion for the beautiful game, uniting football lovers in a celebration of skill and sportsmanship.

Shathapoornima was a grand centenary celebration organized by the Government Higher Secondary School Peringolam. As part of this historic event, the school's program committee hosted a month-long cultural carnival, featuring vibrant performances, exhibitions, and community activities. The festival became a massive success, drawing over 10,000 visitors and participants from across the region. It served as a testament to the school’s legacy and its deep connection with the community.
