Pholidoptera littoralis is a species of insect belonging to the family Tettigoniidae subfamily Tettigoniinae. It is found from Greece across much of the Balkan Peninsula on to the Italian Alpine foothills, Switzerland and Austria to Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, where it is less common. [2] [3]

It is found at altitudes from 260 to 2360 meters above sea level in densely forested clearings or clearcuts, high-altitude orchards, bracken slopes, rocky, dwarf shrub communities and areas densely populated with grasses and herbaceous plants. At high altitudes, warm southern slopes are preferred.
