Nathuram Vinayak Godse was a Hindu nationalist who on 30 January 1948 assassinated Mahatma Gandhi. Godse was a member of the political party,the Hindu Mahasabha;and a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS),a right-wing Hindu paramilitary volunteer organisation;and a populariser of the work of his mentor Vinayak Damodar Savarkar,who had created the ideology of Hindutva.
Malegaon is a city and a municipal corporation in Nashik District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Malegaon is one of the biggest city after Nashik city in North Maharashtra.It is situated on the bank of the Girna river with Mosam River river flowing through middle of the city dividing it in two parts. Malegaon is famous for its loom industries.
Digvijaya Singh is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He is Ex-General Secretary of the Indian National Congress party's All India Congress Committee. Previously,he had served as the 14th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh,a central Indian state,for two terms from 1993 to 2003. Prior to that he was a minister in Chief Minister Arjun Singh's cabinet between 1980 and 1984. In 2019 Lok Sabha elections he was defeated by Pragya Singh Thakur for Bhopal Lok Sabha seat.
The 2006 Malegaon bombings took place on 8 September 2006 in Malegaon,a town in the Nashik district of the Indian state of Maharashtra,290 km northeast of Mumbai. The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) initially blamed the bombings on the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI),but in a chargesheet filed in 2013 the NIA and ATS joint investigation and involved evidences pointed towards involvement of an extremist group Abhinav Bharat and Pragya Thakur was the main accused in the bombing but she was elected as a member of parliament despite of pending cases against her in the said bombings.
Saffronisation or saffronization is the right-wing policy approach in India that seeks to implement a Hindu nationalist agenda,for example onto school textbooks. Critics have used this political neologism to refer to the policies of Hindu nationalist governments in India that attempted to glorify Hindu contributions to Indian history while undermining other contributions.
The Mecca Masjid blast occurred on 18 May 2007 inside the Mecca Masjid,a mosque located in the old city area of Hyderabad,capital of the Indian state of Telangana located very close to Charminar. The blast was caused by a cellphone-triggered pipe bomb placed near the place where ablutions are performed. Two further live IEDs were found and defused by the police. Sixteen people were reported dead in the immediate aftermath,of whom five were killed by the police firing after the incident while trying to quell the mob.
Sadhvi Rithambara is a Hindu nun (sadhvi),public speaker and nationalist ideologue who is the founder-chairperson of Durga Vahini,the women's wing of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP),established in 1991. She gained national prominence with VHP in the late 1980s through the Jan Jagran Abhiyan,and in 1990s during the run up to the Babri Masjid demolition. Subsequently,she was named an accused in the Liberhan Commission report,though later acquitted by the CBI court in 2020.
On 29 September 2008 three bombs exploded in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra of India killing 10 people and injuring 80. Two bombs went off in Malegaon,Maharashtra,which killed nine people while another blast in Modasa,Gujarat resulted in the death of one person.
Abhinav Bharat is a Hindu militant organization founded by retired Indian Army Major Ramesh Upadhyay in 2006 in Pune,India. It has a large base in Madhya Pradesh. The organization is believed to be the revived form of the pre-Independence era Abhinav Bharat Society. The activities of the organisations received widespread attention after Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) arrested its member for the 2006 Malegaon bombings case. It has no relationship to the Mumbai-based charitable trust of the same name.
Hemant Kamlakar Karkare,was the chief of the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). He was killed in action during the 2008 Mumbai attacks. In 2009,he was posthumously given the Ashoka Chakra,India's highest peacetime gallantry decoration.

The Ajmer Dargah bombing occurred on 11 October 2007,in the courtyard of Sufi maulana Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer,Rajasthan,India,after the Iftar period had started. On 22 March 2017 a Special NIA Court convicted three Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharaks Devendra Gupta,Bhavesh Patel and Sunil Joshi. Sunil Joshi and Devendra Gupta were found guilty on charges of conspiracy and Bhavesh Bhai Patel was found guilty of planting the explosive on the blast site. Gupta and Patel were awarded life imprisonment. Sunil Joshi had been found shot dead in mysterious circumstances soon after the blast in Dewas,Madhya Pradesh.
Swami Sachchidanand Hari Sakshi Ji Maharaj,also known as Sakshi Maharaj,is an Indian political and religious leader belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He won the 2014 general election from Unnao,Uttar Pradesh. He also won Indian general election in 1991 from Mathura,1996 and 1998 from Farrukhabad. He was also a member of Rajya Sabha from 2000 to 2006,before being suspended for corruption. He holds a Ph.D. degree and runs various educational institutions and ashrams across India under the banner of Sakshi Maharaj Group for which he is also serving as its present director.
Thakur Raja Singh,popularly known as Tiger Raja Singh,is an Indian politician from the state of Telangana. He is the incumbent MLA of the Telangana Legislative Assembly representing the Goshamahal Assembly constituency in Hyderabad.

The 2017 Alwar mob lynching was the attack and murder of Pehlu Khan,a dairy farmer from Nuh district of Haryana,allegedly by a group of 200 cow vigilantes affiliated with right-wing Hindutva groups in Behror in Alwar,Rajasthan,India on 1 April,2017. Six others who were with Pehlu Khan were also beaten by the cow vigilantes.
Param Bir Singh is a former Indian police officer of the 1988 Indian Police Service (IPS) batch. He served as the Police Commissioner of Mumbai and the Director General (DG) of the Maharashtra Home Guard. Following the filing of extortion cases against him,he was untraceable,and was declared as absconding by a Mumbai Magistrate Court. Singh was suspended from his present position as The DG of the Home Guard because of his absence by the government of Maharashtra.
