Praticolella is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Polygyridae.
This genus comprises about 15[ citation needed ] species of small snails with semi-globose shells.
The shells of these snails often have contrasting color bands, and are usually without apertural teeth, although a tooth may sometimes occur on the parietal wall of the aperture.
Snails in this genus are distinguished from other polygyrid snails on the basis of their internal anatomy.
Species of Praticolella may be found from Nicaragua and eastern Mexico, into the southeastern United States, from Texas to North Carolina. [1]
This genus includes the following species and subspecies: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
Succinea, common name the amber snails, is a large genus of small, air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Succineidae.
Bulimulus is a genus of small to medium-sized tropical or sub-tropical, air-breathing land snails, pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the subfamily Bulimulinae within the family Bulimulidae.
Physella is a genus of small, left-handed or sinistral, air-breathing freshwater snails, aquatic pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Physidae.
Cerion is a genus of small to medium-sized tropical air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropods in the family Cerionidae, noted for its extreme morphological diversity. The genus is endemic to the Caribbean region.
Cryptomastix is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Polygyridae.
Gastrocopta is a genus of minute air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks or micromollusks in the family Gastrocoptidae.
Stenotrema is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Polygyridae. These are typically small to medium-sized snails, with a velvety or hairy shell surface, and a narrow aperture which is usually closely guarded by well-developed "teeth".
Truncatella is a genus of very small land snails with an operculum, terrestrial gastropod mollusks in the family Truncatellidae. These small and minute snails live on land, very close to seawater. They walk with a strange looping action, and the adults have truncated shells. Many of the species are small enough to be considered micromollusks.
Vespericola is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Polygyridae.
Polygyridae is a family of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Helicoidea.
Euglandina is a genus of predatory medium- to large-sized, air-breathing, land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Spiraxidae.
Trilobopsis is a genus of small, air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Polygyridae.
Euchemotrema is a genus of small, air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Polygyridae.
Lobosculum is a genus of small air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod molluscs in the family Polygyridae.
Linisa is a genus of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the subfamily Polygyrinae of the family Polygyridae.
The Helminthoglyptinae are a subfamily of air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks within the family Xanthonychidae.
Anostoma, common name the up-mouth snails, is a genus of tropical air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the family Odontostomidae. Snails in this genus are found in Brazil.
The Socorro springsnail, scientific name Pyrgulopsis neomexicana, is an endangered species of minute freshwater snail with a gill and an operculum, an aquatic gastropod mollusk or micromollusk in the family Hydrobiidae, the mud snails.
Mesomphix is a genus of terrestrial gastropods belonging to the family Gastrodontidae.
