The Puerto Rico Open is a defunct women's tennis tournament. First played in San Juan, Puerto Rico, it then moved to Dorado, Puerto Rico in 1990 and was played on outdoor hard courts. In 1988, when Tier categories were first introduced on the WTA Tour, the Open became part of Tier IV. One last edition was played in 1995, this time featuring in Tier III. The event was the successor tournament to the Avon Futures of Puerto Rico (1980-1981).

The Qatar Open, currently sponsored by TotalEnergies and called the Qatar TotalEnergies Open, is a women's tennis tournament held in Doha, Qatar. Held since 2001, this WTA Tour event was a Tier I-tournament in 2008, and was played on outdoor hardcourts. After a two-year break the tournament returned in 2011 and is held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

Rossana Neffa de los Rios is a former tennis player from Paraguay. She was born in the Paraguayan capital, Asunción, and now resides in Miami, Florida, with her daughter Ana Paula Neffa de los Ríos, who is also a professional tennis player, and her husband Gustavo Neffa, a retired Paraguayan Association football player who played for Boca Juniors. De los Ríos achieved career-high WTA rankings of No. 51 in singles and 52 in doubles. She played doubles with Grand Slam champions such as Maria Sharapova, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Arantxa Sánchez Vicario, as well as Jelena Janković and Dinara Safina. The Ameritech Cup is a defunct WTA Tour affiliated tennis tournament held every year from 1971 until 1997 in Chicago, Illinois in the United States. Its sponsors were Virginia Slims from 1971 to 1978 and again from 1983 to 1994, Avon from 1979 to 1982 and Ameritech from 1995 to 1997. The tournament was classified as Tier III in 1988-1989, Tier I in 1990 and Tier II until 1997, and was played on indoor carpet courts.

The Avon Futures of Puerto Rico was a defunct tennis tournament founded in 1977 as the Borniquen Tennis Classic. It was held in San Juan in Puerto Rico and was played on outdoor hard courts. It was the successor event to the early Caribe Hilton Invitational that was a combined men's and women's tournament. This event ran until 1978 when it was discontinued. In 1986 a successor women's event was established called the Puerto Rico Open, initially played in San Juan.
