Syndicate Bank Commercial banking group located in India

Syndicate Bank was one of the oldest and major commercial banks of India. It was founded by Upendra Ananth Pai, T. M. A. Pai and Vaman Srinivas Kudva. At the time of its establishment, the bank was known as Canara Industrial and Banking Syndicate Limited. The bank, along with 13 major commercial banks of India, was nationalised on 19 July 1969, by the government of India. It was headquartered in the university town of Manipal, India. On 1 April 2020, the bank was merged into Canara Bank.

Industrial Development Bank of India was established in 1964 by an act to provide credit and other financial facilities for the development of the fledgling Indian industry. It is a development finance institution and a subsidiary of Life Insurance Corporation which is also under the ownership of Ministry of Finance of the Government of India. Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited is an Indian banking and financial services company headquartered in the city of Mumbai, India. It is India's third largest private sector bank by assets and by market capitalisation as of November 2021. As of February 2021, the bank has 1600 branches and 2519 ATMs.

M. Balachandran, who served as the chairman and managing director (CMD) of Bank of India (BoI) during the period 2005–2008, is a prominent banker of India. Before his appointment as the CMD of BoI, he was the executive director of the same bank. He is a post-graduate in science, and commenced his banking career in June 1970 as a probationary officer in Bank of Baroda, and has worked in different capacities, including as the senior manager (agriculture), chief manager (agriculture), regional manager, deputy general manager before he was elevated to the level of general manager and zonal manager of Bank of Baroda, Chennai Zone, Chennai. Thereafter, he was moved to Bank of Baroda, New York (US) as the chief executive. He was appointed as the executive director of Bank of India by the Government of India. Since 9 June 2005, he is serving as the CMD of BoI.

HDFC Bank Limited is an Indian banking and financial services company, headquartered in Mumbai. HDFC Bank is India's largest private sector bank by assets and worlds 10th largest bank by market capitalisation as of April 2021. It is the third largest company by market capitalisation of $122.50 billion on the Indian stock exchanges. It is also the fifteenth largest employer in India with nearly 120,000 employees.

The state of Karnataka, particularly the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, historically and collectively known as South Canara, is called the cradle of banking in India. This is because seven of the country's leading banks, Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank, Corporation Bank, Vijaya Bank, Karnataka Bank, Vysya Bank and the State Bank of Mysore originated from this state. The first five in the above list of banks were established in the districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada. These districts have one among the best distribution of banks in India - a branch for every 500 persons. Between 1880 and 1935, 22 banks were established in coastal Karnataka, nine of them in the city of Mangalore.

Axis Bank Limited, formerly known as UTI Bank (1993–2007), is an Indian banking and financial services company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It sells financial services to large and mid-size companies, SMEs and retail businesses.

Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) was an Indian public sector bank headquartered at Gurgaon, Haryana. It had 2390 branches and 2625 ATMs across India. In April 2020, the bank along with United Bank of India has been merged with Punjab National Bank, making the latter the second-largest public sector bank in India.

Westpac Banking Corporation, known simply as Westpac, is an Australian bank and financial services provider headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Established in 1817 as the Bank of New South Wales, it acquired the Commercial Bank of Australia in 1982 before being renamed shortly afterwards. ING Vysya Bank

ING Vysya Bank was a privately owned Indian multinational bank based in Bangalore, with retail, wholesale, and private banking platforms formed from the 2002 purchase of an equity stake in Vysya Bank by the Dutch ING Group. This merger marked the first between an Indian bank and a foreign bank. Prior to this transaction, Vysya Bank had a seven-year-old strategic alliance and shareholding arrangement with erstwhile Belgian bank Banque Bruxelles Lambert, which was also acquired by ING Group in 1998.

Bharatiya Mahila Bank Indian financial services company
