RoadRunner was a post-production firm based in Quezon City, Philippines. It is a division of Star Cinema. In addition to films, Roadrunner is also heavily engaged in the production of commercial advertisement for television, print and internet.

Some of the most notable projects undertaken by the firm are Puso ng Pasko (1998), Hiling (1998), Spirit Warriors (2000), Yamashita: The Tiger's Treasure (2001) (which earned Roadrunner a FAMAS Awards for best visual effects and best special effects), Spirit Warriors: The Shortcut (2003), Manoro (2006), Pisay (2007), Concerto (2008), Independencia (2009) the first Filipino film to be screened in the Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival, and RPG Metanoia (2010) the first feature length Filipino film to be presented in 3D. Metro Manila Film Festival Philippine film festival

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival held in Metro Manila, Philippines. The festival, which runs from December 25 (Christmas) through New Year's Day and into first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino films. During the course of the festival, movie theaters show only films that are approved by its jurors and exclude foreign films except in 3D theaters and IMAX theaters. Since 2010s, film entries were played in select 3D cinemas that it can show movies in 2D format. It is one of the two Filipino major film festivals to exclude movies out of the country in a week-long period, the other being the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino happening during August.

Marilou Diaz-Abaya was a Filipina multi-award winning film director. She was the founder and president of the Marilou Diaz-Abaya Film Institute and Arts Center, a film school based in Antipolo, Philippines. She was the director of the 1998 film José Rizal, a biographical film on the Philippines' national hero. She was part of the Second Golden Age of Philippine Cinema.

Mark A. Meily is a film director, producer and a film educator who started his career in the Philippines. He has directed campaigns for Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, Coca-Cola, DocuSign, and FICO. His feature films have been presented at the film festivals of Deauville, Hawaii, Seattle, Goteborg, Marrakech, Montreal, Busan, Fukuoka and Brussels. RPG Metanoia is a 2010 Filipino 3D computer-animated adventure film produced by Ambient Media, Thaumatrope Animation and Star Cinema. It is the first full length Philippine animated movie presented in 3D. It was an official entry at the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival. It won the title for 3rd Best Picture, Best Sound Recording and Best Original Theme Song, as well as the Quezon City's Special Citation given for being a Gender Sensitive Movie. The stereoscopy of the film was made by Roadrunner Network, Inc.

Nilalang or Sonzai-sha is a 2015 Filipino action horror film directed by Pedring Lopez starring Cesar Montano and Maria Ozawa. It is an official entry to the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival and was released on December 25, 2015. Nilalang is about a local forensic expert who teams up with an heiress to a transnational organized crime syndicate originating from Japan.
