ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. is a Filipino film studio and film and television production company and film distributor headquartered in Quezon City. It is one of the major film studios in the Philippines, along with VIVA Films and Regal Entertainment. Star Cinema has produced and released most of the highest-grossing Philippine films of all time. Star Cinema, along with its subsidiaries and MOR 101.9 Manila, forms the Star Creatives Group, the main entertainment division of media conglomerate ABS-CBN Corporation.
The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is an annual film festival held in Metro Manila, Philippines. The festival, which runs from December 25 (Christmas) through New Year's Day and into first weekend of January in the following year, focuses on Filipino films. During the course of the festival, movie theaters show only films that are approved by its jurors and exclude foreign films except in 3D theaters and IMAX theaters. Since 2010s, film entries were played in select 3D cinemas that it can show movies in 2D format. It is one of the two Filipino major film festivals to exclude movies out of the country in a week-long period, the other being the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino happening during August.

He also won the Metro Manila Film Festival Award for Best Director for the films Nasaan ang Puso, and Yamashita: The Tiger's Treasure (2001). He also directed the family drama Signal Rock (2018) which was the Philippines' entry to the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 91st Academy Awards.

RPG Metanoia is a 2010 Filipino 3D computer-animated adventure film produced by Ambient Media, Thaumatrope Animation and Star Cinema. It is the first full length Philippine animated movie presented in 3D. It was an official entry at the 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival. It won the title for 3rd Best Picture, Best Sound Recording and Best Original Theme Song, as well as the Quezon City's Special Citation given for being a Gender Sensitive Movie. The stereoscopy of the film was made by Roadrunner Network, Inc.

Nilalang is about a local forensic expert who teams up with an heiress to a transnational organized crime syndicate originating from Japan.
