Rumex azoricus is a species of sorrel in the family Polygonaceae. It is endemic to the Azores, Portugal.
Rumex azoricus has been observed in five of the nine Azorean islands, specifically in São Miguel, Terceira, São Jorge, Faial and Corvo. [1] It lives in caldeiras, watercourses and natural meadows. In São Jorge it also appears in clearings of coastal forests of Erica azorica and Myrica faya . [2]

Jorge João Zarif is a Brazilian sailor, competing in the Finn class. Son of Brazilian Olympic sailor Jorge Zarif Neto, after finishing 20th at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Zarif was world champion in both junior and senior levels, winning gold at the 2013 Youth Championship in Cyprus and the 2013 Finn Gold Cup in Estonia. SATA Air Açores Flight 530M was a Portuguese regional commuter flight operated by SATA Air Açores, that connected Ponta Delgada-João Paulo II Airport and Flores Airport, with an intermediary stop at Horta, on 11 December 1999. At 10:20 a.m., the British Aerospace BAe ATP, named Graciosa, while enroute to Horta, collided with Pico da Esperança, on the central mountains of the island of São Jorge, resulting in the deaths of all 35 people on board. It is also the deadliest aviation accident involving the British Aerospace ATP.
