Data breach

In January 2023, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows School District suffered a data breach resulting in 19,126 records being leaked of students and staff: first name, last name; school/department; district email address; grade level (K-12). The district notified families about the breach on January 17, 2023. The data was distributed on a hacking forum.[ citation needed ]
