School District 92 Nisga'a is a school district in British Columbia, Canada. Situated in the Nass River valley it covers the First Nations area of the Nisga'a people north of Terrace. This includes the communities of Gitlaxt'aamiks (or New Aiyansh), Gitwinksihlkw (or Canyon City), Laxgalts'ap (or Greenville), Gingolx (or Kincolith), and the surrounding settlements.
School District 92 Nisga'a was created January 1, 1975 as the first aboriginal school district in the province. There has been a steady decline in the number of students over the past several years. In September 2010, there were 422 students in Grades K-12. School populations range from 46 students in the smallest elementary school to 241 in the combined elementary/secondary school located in the largest community. There are 44 students designated as having special needs, within the Ministry of Education categories.[ citation needed ]

The School District also operates the Nisga'a ACE School for Adult Continuing Education. The schools are relatively far geographically from each other.
The Nisga’a, formerly spelled Nishga or Niska, are an Indigenous people in British Columbia, Canada. They reside in the Nass River valley of northwestern British Columbia. The origin of the term Niska is uncertain. The spelling Nishga is used by the Nishga Tribal Council, and some scholars claim that the term means 'people of the Nass River'. The name is a reduced form of, which is a loan word from Tongass Tlingit, where it means 'people of the Nass River'.
School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) or SD43 is one of the sixty school districts in British Columbia. Nisga’a is an indigenous language of northwestern British Columbia. It is a part of the language family generally called Tsimshianic, although some Nisga'a people resent the precedence the term gives to Coast Tsimshian. Nisga’a is very closely related to Gitxsan. Indeed, many linguists regard Nisga’a and Gitksan as dialects of a single Nass–Gitksan language. The two are generally treated as distinct languages out of deference to the political separation of the two groups.
The Gitxsan language, or Gitxsanimaax, is an endangered Tsimshianic language of northwestern British Columbia, closely related to the neighboring Nisga’a language. The two groups are, however, politically separate and prefer to refer to Gitxsan and Nisga'a as distinct languages. According to the Report on the status of B.C First Nations Languages there are 523 fluent speakers, 639 that understand or somewhat speak and 344 learning speakers.

Gitlax̱t'aamiks, formerly New Aiyansh, is a Nisga'a village about 100 km (62 mi) north of Terrace, in the heart of the Nass River valley, Canada. It is one of four Nisga'a villages. Though it is located in British Columbia, it is also considered the "capital of the Nisga'a Nation". The Nisg̱a'a Lisims Government building, which opened in 2000, is located here. The area is home to 806 people and the Nisga'a Memorial Lava Bed Provincial Park. Gitlax̱t'aamiks is located overlooking a lava flow that erupted in the 18th century. The source for this lava flow was the Tseax Cone.

Kensington Prairie Elementary School was a public elementary school, situated in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, that was part of School District 36 Surrey. It operated from 1887 until 2006. In June 2010, the Surrey City Council began restoration of the site as part of a plan to preserve the building and convert it into a Community Centre.

Ging̱olx is one of four Nisg̱a’a villages that make up the Nisg̱a’a Nation. The community itself has four clans which are Killer Whale, Eagle, Raven and Wolf. Ging̱olx village's government consists of 1 chief and 5 councillors.
Lax̱g̱altsʼap is a Nisg̱a’a village of approximately 248, in the Nass River valley of British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the four main villages in the Nisg̱a’a Lisims, the formal name for their territory, and is situated on the north side of the Nass River between Gitwinksihlkw to the east and Ging̱olx to the west. It is approximately 24 km from where the Nass empties into the Pacific Ocean at Nass Bay. Road access is via the Nisga'a Highway.

Eileen Elizabeth Dailly was an educator and political figure in British Columbia, Canada. She represented Burnaby North in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1966 to 1986 as a New Democratic Party (NDP) member.

It is the elementary school for Gitlaxt'aamiks as well as the designated secondary school for the area of the Nisga'a people in the Nass Valley, including the communities of Gitlaxt'aamiks, Gitwinksihlkw, Laxgalts'ap (Greenville), Gingolx (Kincolith), and surrounding settlements. Secondary grades-level students from outside of Gitlaxt'aamiks are bussed to the school each day.
Melanie Joy Mark, also known by her Nisga'a name Hli Haykwhl Ẃii Xsgaak, is a Canadian politician in the province of British Columbia. A member of the New Democratic Party (NDP), she served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Vancouver-Mount Pleasant from 2016 to 2023. From 2017 to 2020, she served as Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training; from 2020 to 2022, she served as Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. Mark is the first First Nations woman elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, and the first First Nations woman to serve in the Cabinet of British Columbia. On February 22, 2023, Mark announced her intention to resign as MLA and cabinet minister, her resignation took effect April 14 of the same year.
