The Seaborn Jones Memorial Park, formerly known as Wayside Park, was renamed in 2002 after Seaborn Jones because of his generosity and other significant contributions that he made to the city. [1] The park sits in the middle of the Historical Downtown district of the City of Rockmart, Georgia along the banks of the Euharlee Creek. The name Euharlee comes from the Cherokee or Creek Indians and means "she laughs as she runs."
The main attractions to the park are the Euharlee Creek and the Silver Comet Trail which both run through the park. The latest attraction to the area is the "Silver Comet Depot" which is a community building that is adjacent to the park and the Silver Comet Trail. This building is available to rent for family gatherings, receptions, and other special events.
On the third weekend of July, Rockmart host a special event called the Homespun Festival. This is a two-day event of live entertainment, arts, crafts, homemade foods, car shows and other events. Friday night features Southern Gospel Music and Saturday includes a 5-K Road Race, the annual parade and fireworks.
The "Fish Fry" scene from the movie Irresistible was filmed in the park. Downtown Rockmart was the location of the fictional Deerlaken, Wisconsin.

As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 51,271. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated the population in 2019 to be 56,666. It is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs–Roswell MSA, which is included in the Atlanta–Athens–Clarke–Sandy Springs CSA. Smyrna grew by 28% between the years 2000 and 2012. It is historically one of the fastest growing cities in the State of Georgia, and one of the most densely populated cities in the metro area.

Rockmart is a city in Polk County, Georgia, United States. The population was 4,199 according to a 2010 census. Rockmart developed as a railroad depot town when the Southern Railway built a station in the area. The community was incorporated in 1872, and was named from abundant deposits of slate in the area. The Rockmart Downtown Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Silver Comet Trail is a rail trail in west-northwestern Georgia.
The Atlanta BeltLine is a former railway corridor around the core of Atlanta, Georgia, under development in stages as a multi-use trail. Some portions are already complete, while others are still in a rough state but hikeable. Using existing rail track easements, the BeltLine is designed to improve transportation, add green space, and promote redevelopment. There are longer-term visions for streetcar or light-rail lines along all or part of the corridor.
The Los Gatos Creek Trail is a 9.7-mile (15.6 km) pedestrian and bicycle trail that runs through western Santa Clara County in California, from Lexington Reservoir in Los Gatos, California through Campbell, California to Meridian Avenue in San Jose, California alongside Los Gatos Creek. The trail is heavily used.
The Atlanta and Birmingham Air Line Railway (A&BAL) was formed when the Seaboard Air Line Railroad (SAL) purchased the capital stock of the bankrupt East and West Railroad of Alabama (E&W) on April 23, 1902. The E&W Railroad had already established a line from Cartersville, Georgia to Pell City, Alabama through the cities of Rockmart, Georgia, Cedartown, Georgia, and Piedmont, Alabama.
State Route 6 (SR 6) is a 72.1-mile-long (116.0 km) state highway that travels northwest-to-southeast in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is known as Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, Jimmy Campbell Parkway, Nathan Dean Parkway, and Wendy Bagwell Parkway in Paulding County; C.H. James Parkway in Cobb County; Thornton Road in Douglas County; and Camp Creek Parkway and honorarily as Tuskegee Airmen Parkway in Fulton and Clayton counties. It begins at the Alabama state line, where it is concurrent with US 278. Here, US 278 enters Alabama, concurrent with the unsigned state highway SR 74. Its eastern terminus is at an interchange with Interstate 85 (I-85) west of the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Seaborn Jones was a United States Representative from Georgia. Born in Augusta, Georgia, he attended Princeton College and studied law. By a special act of the legislature, he was admitted to the bar in 1808. He commenced a legal practice in Milledgeville.
Rockmart High School (RHS) also known as the Fighting Yellow Jackets is the only high school in Rockmart, Georgia, United States. It is fed by Rockmart Middle School and by the Aragon community. As of the 2017/18 school year, the school had an enrollment of 925 students and a faculty of 50.10 classroom teachers, for a student-teacher ratio of 16.71.
U.S. Route 278 (US 278) in the U.S. state of Georgia is an east–west United States Highway traversing the north-central portion of the state. The highway travels from its western terminus as US 278/SR 74 at the Alabama state line near Esom Hill to its eastern terminus at US 1/US 25/US 78/US 278/SC 121 in the Augusta metropolitan area where it crosses the Savannah River into South Carolina.
There were several historic bridges around the metro Atlanta, Georgia area, for which many of its current-day roads are named. Many of them originated as ferries, dating back to the 1820s and 1830s, and carrying travelers across the Chattahoochee River and several other smaller rivers. Several were also covered bridges, very few of which remain as historic sites.
Euharlee Creek is a 21-mile-long (35 km) waterway which traverses across two counties in Georgia, USA, Bartow County and Polk County. It begins in Polk County near the city of Rockmart and joins the Etowah River in Euharlee. The historic Euharlee Covered Bridge spans Euharlee Creek.
Seven special routes of U.S. Route 278 currently exist. Three of them lie within the state of Arkansas. One more existed in the past but has since been decommissioned.
