Mushfiqur Rahim and Tushar Imran were early captains of the List A team. Abdur Razzak was the captain in 2016–17, and Nurul Hasan in 2017–18, 2018–19 and again in 2022–23. Imrul Kayes captained the team to the title in 2021–22.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi won the inaugural tournament of the Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League in 2018–19 when, captained by Nurul Hasan, they defeated Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club in the final by 24 runs. [1]

The tournament replaced the 2019–20 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and featured the same twelve teams playing in the Twenty20 format instead of the List A format.

The 2021–22 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was an edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh. It was the eighth edition of the tournament with List A status, although almost 35 seasons have been played before achieving the status. The tournament took place from 15 March to 28 April 2022. The previous edition of the tournament, in March 2020, ended after just one round of matches, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was abandoned and later replaced by the 2021 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League.

The 2022–23 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, also known as Walton Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League is the ninth edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that is being held in Bangladesh. It is being played by the 12 club teams. The tournament started on 15 March 2023. All the matches are being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, BKSP grounds and Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium. The group phase of the tournament will continue until Eid al-Fitr, while the Super League will begin after the Eid break. In February 2023, the CCDM introduced three new awards for this edition: Player of the Tournament, Highest Run-Scorer and Highest Wicket-Taker, with a prize money of ৳2 lakh for each. They also decided to give ৳10,000 as the prize money for the Player of the Match.
