The 12451 / 12452 Shram Shakti Express is an Indian Railways Superfast train which daily runs non-stop overnight between the cities of Kanpur and New Delhi. It covers the 440 km of distance in 6 hours and has a priority advantage over other trains.

Shram Shakti Express along with Prayagraj Express and Shiv Ganga Express enjoys highest priority all over the route.

Modern LHB coach with a MPS of 160 kmph are more comfortable. The new coaches, based on a German technology Linke Hoffman Busch, are made of stainless steel which do not turn turtle during accidents; the light-weight coaches will improve the train's speed. Bigger windows, lamps at all AC seats and sound insulation are the other facilities of this train. Shram Shakti Express runs with 1 AC 1 tier coach, 1 AC 2 tier coach,5 AC 3E coaches,4 AC 3 tier coaches, 5 Sleeper coaches, 4 General coaches along with 1 EOG coach and 1 SLR coach. Thus, having a total of 22 LHB coach; the normal locomotive of Shram Shakti is a WAP-7 locomotive of Kanpur shed. Loco in-charge for this train is WAP-7 Kanpur Shed.Earlier was hauled by a WAP-4 Kanpur Shed. Earlier It was used to run non stop over night between New Delhi and Kanpur Central, but it had given a halt at Panki in Kanpur to cater city people better. It is non-stop overnight train. Punctual and clean also; this along with Kanpur Shatabdi are two trains from/to NDLS-CNB.

Background

The train has two dedicated LHB rakes. Shram Shakti Express and Kanpur–New Delhi Shatabdi Express are two dedicated intercity trains between New Delhi (NDLS) and Kanpur Central (CNB). Another train is Kanpur Central–Anand Vihar Terminal Express a weekly train between Anand Vihar Terminal (ANVT), New Delhi to Kanpur Central.

Development

On 29 July 2018, replacing the old ICF coaches, Shram Shakti Express got new German LHB rakes. Modern LHB coach are more comfortable and at the same time faster than the conventional ICF coaches.

The service began running on 16 February 2002 and is one of the fastest train services in India, traversing the 1001-kilometre distance in under 12 hours, which puts it with likes of Patna Rajdhani Express, Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, Agartala Rajdhani Express, Howrah Rajdhani Express. It is faster than the Shramjeevi Superfast Express, Magadh Express and Vikramshila Express on the same route. The 12557 / 12558 Sapt Kranti Superfast Express is a Superfast train service of Indian Railways running between Muzaffarpur railway station and Anand Vihar Terminal railway station. This train is operated by the East Central Railway zone of Indian Railways. Its inaugural run was on 1 July 2002. Its terminal station was changed from New Delhi railway station to Anand Vihar Terminal from 2 December 2010. But from 15 June 2020 to 5 December 2020 it would be run from Old Delhi to Muzaffarpur due to COVID-19 pandemic. One rake of this train got Gandhi theme coaches. This train got LHB coach on 2 October 2019 to celebrate 150th birthday of Mahatama Gandhi The train has its name based on the Sapt Kranti movement led by Ram Manohar Lohia. The 12391 / 12392 Shramjeevi Superfast Express is a daily superfast express train of Indian Railways, running between Rajgir, near Nalanda, Bihar, and New Delhi, the capital city of India. Previously it was running between Patna and New Delhi, later extended to Rajgir. The name Shramjeevi signifies the employee/worker, dependent on physical/mental labour (Shram) for their livelihood (Jeevi).

The 12427 / 12428 Rewa–Anand Vihar Terminal Superfast Express is a daily Superfast Express train of the Indian Railways, running between Rewa, a city of Madhya Pradesh and Anand Vihar Terminal of Delhi with LHB coaches which are more safe than normal ICF coaches. The train originally used to run from New Delhi Railway Station before being shifted to Anand Vihar station on 2 September 2012. The train is operated by the Northern Railway zone of Indian Railways on the section which is part of the busy Howrah–Delhi main line. The 12819 / 12820 Odisha Sampark Kranti Express is a bi-weekly train which runs between Bhubaneswar, capital of Odisha and Anand Vihar Terminal. This train was introduced as part of the Sampark Kranti trains that were announced by the then railway minister Nitish Kumar in 2005. It was and still is a bi-weekly train. Earlier the train used to terminate at New Delhi railway station (NDLS) but now terminates at Anand Vihar Terminus (ANVT) of New Delhi. Its rakes are maintained by East Coast Railway (ECoR).
