Songs from the Stage and Screen is the debut studio album by English actor and singer Michael Crawford, together with the London Symphony Orchestra. It was released in 1987 on Telstar Records. [1]
The album features Crawford singing show tunes from various musical theatre and films, and was recorded and released during his successful time playing the award-winning [2] title role in the musical The Phantom of the Opera in London's West End. [1]

In a review for AllMusic, Steven McDonald opined that the combination of Crawford, the London Symphony Orchestra, and "some of the best songs ever written for stage and screen" would be expected "to produce a driving, dynamic album", but instead he described it as "wimpy and weak", and "prone to sub-Anthony Newley moments. A New World Record is the sixth studio album by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). It was released on 15 October 1976 on United Artists Records in the U.S., and on 19 November 1976 on Jet Records in the United Kingdom. A New World Record marked ELO's shift towards shorter pop songs, a trend which would continue across their career.

After the release and promotion of their previous album, Bilingual (1996), Pet Shop Boys started work with playwright Jonathan Harvey on the stage musical that eventually became Closer to Heaven. Pet Shop Boys soon had an album's worth of tracks and decided to release the album Nightlife as a concept album and in order to showcase some of the songs that would eventually make it into the musical.

Blue Moves is the eleventh studio album by English musician Elton John. It was released on 22 October 1976 through John's own Rocket Record Company, alongside MCA Records in certain countries.
