Sons & Daughters is a New Nordic restaurant in San Francisco, California, United States. It opened in 2010 and has two Michelin stars.
The restaurant was opened in June 2010 by chefs Teague Moriarty and Matt McNamara with Travis Curtis and is located in the "TenderNob" area of Nob Hill on the edge of the Tenderloin. [1] It replaced Cafe Mozart, a longstanding restaurant, [2] and was named for its young staff. [3] Its cuisine was Northern California New American with an emphasis on locally sourced seasonal ingredients. [1] [4] [5]
After the COVID-19 shutdown, Moriarty, then sole owner and chef, reopened Sons & Daughters with fewer tables and a smaller staff, all salaried. [6] In 2022 he was joined as chef by Harrison Cheney, who became head chef in 2023 and changed the cuisine to New Nordic. [7] [8]

Benu is the first restaurant in San Francisco to have received Three Michelin Stars. Located in the SoMa district, Benu was opened in 2010 by chef Corey Lee, the former Chef de Cuisine at the French Laundry.
Thomas Aloysius Keller is an American chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. He had been Chef of the Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, taking over for Chef Sylvain Portray in 2004. Siegel is perhaps best known for his 1998 appearance on Iron Chef, becoming the first ever U.S. citizen to win in Kitchen Stadium. His cooking style is known for blending haute French cuisine with subtle Japanese touches.

Baumé was a French restaurant in Palo Alto, California, opened in 2010 by chef Bruno Chemel. Until 2021, it had two Michelin stars. Originally seating 28, the restaurant was reduced to eight tables in the mid-2010s, and staffed only by Chemel, his son Antoine, and his wife Christie. In 2021, Chemel requested the Michelin stars be withdrawn, and in 2022 he converted the restaurant into a more casual Bistronomie by Baumé. It closed permanently in August 2023.

Adega was a Portuguese restaurant in the Little Portugal neighborhood of San Jose, California. Established in 2015, it became the city's first restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star in 2016. In Summer 2023, the owners announced that the restaurant would close at the end of the year, to be replaced by a second location of Petiscos, a more casual Portuguese restaurant with the same chefs. Ownership reversed course in October 2024 and announced Adega would reopen in November 2024.
