Spirit Radio Network was a commercial radio network covering regional Western Australia. It was part of the Redwave Media Group owned by Seven West Media and broadcast to most towns and regional centers in Western Australia including Bunbury, Geraldton, Broome, Port Hedland and Karratha.The Spirit Radio Network targeted 30 to 54 year-old listeners with a Hot AC format and operates under the Australian radio callsigns 6KA, 6NW, 6SAT, 6BAY and 6EL.

History

Spirit Radio Network was first launched as The Star Radio Network in 2000s, however stations 6NW Port Hedland and 6KA Karratha first began broadcasting in the 1970s under the North West Radio branding. The network was later rebranded as The Spirit, later Spirit Radio Network.

In October 2019, Spirit Radio was included in the sale of Redwave Media to Southern Cross Austereo.. [1] On 16 March 2020, Spirit Radio programming was replaced with that of Triple M, with local advertising feeds retained for Broome, Geraldton, Karratha, Port Hedland and remote Western Australia. [2] [3]

In May 2020, Crocmedia purchased Spirit Radio Bunbury 621 AM. [4] On 24 August 2020, Spirit Radio was rebranded as SEN Spirit, with the local advertising feed retained for Bunbury.

Unlike rival Southern Cross Austereo stations, Spirit Radio Network programming was predominantly based in WA. Local Spirit stations receive twice daily local news bulletins. Statewide weather forecasts are provided on the hour. In the cyclone season, Spirit broadcasts warning updates.

North West Coastal Highway Highway in Western Australia

North West Coastal Highway is a generally north-south Western Australian highway which links the coastal city of Geraldton with the town of Port Hedland. The 1,300-kilometre-long (808 mi) road, constructed as a sealed two-lane single carriageway, travels through remote and largely arid landscapes. Carnarvon is the only large settlement on the highway, and is an oasis within the harsh surrounding environment. The entire highway is allocated National Route 1, part of Australia's Highway 1, and parts of the highway are included in tourist routes Batavia Coast Tourist Way and Cossack Tourist Way. Karratha, Western Australia City in Western Australia

Karratha is a city in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, adjoining the port of Dampier. It was established in 1968 to accommodate the processing and exportation workforce of the Hamersley Iron mining company and, in the 1980s, the petroleum and liquefied natural gas operations of the North West Shelf Venture. As of June 2018, Karratha had an urban population of 16,708. The city's name comes from the cattle station of the same name, which derives from a word in a local Aboriginal language meaning "good country" or "soft earth". The Hit Network is an Australian commercial radio network owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo. The network consists of 41 radio stations broadcasting a hot adult contemporary music format, as well as 6 digital radio stations.

Sea FM Former Australian radio network

Sea FM was an Australian radio network, consisting of stations in Queensland and NSW owned by Southern Cross Austereo. Some Sea FM stations were later sold to meet media ownership requirements. Prime Television Limited purchased Sea FM Townsville in Queensland and Grant Broadcasters purchased Sea FM stations in Devonport and Burnie in Tasmania. All Sea FM stations currently owned by Southern Cross Austereo except Cairns, Mackay and Rockhampton / Gladstone, are part of the Hit Network after Southern Cross Media merged with Austereo.

WAFM was a commercial radio network serving major regional towns in Western Australia, north of the capital Perth. It part of the Redwave Media group, which also included the Red FM and Spirit Network stations owned by Seven West Media. WAFM targeted the 18+ Listener with its Top 40 format. Programming came from its studios in Broome, Geraldton, Karratha and Port Hedland. In 2015 the WAFM staions were rebranded as Red FM.

Red FM (Australia) Radio station

Red FM was a commercial radio network covering regional Western Australia. Formerly only broadcasting to mine sites, Red FM later covered every town north of Perth and following the re-branding of WAFM, included the major centres of Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha and Geraldton. Red FM was a part of the Redwave Media Group owned by Seven West Media and targeted 18 to 39 year-old listeners with a contemporary hit radio format. Red FM operated under the Australian radio callsigns 6RED, 6HED, 6FMS and 6GGG.

Triple M Townsville Adult contemporary radio station in Townsville, Queensland

102.3 Triple M is an Australian radio station in Queensland. Owned and operated as part of Southern Cross Austereo's Triple M network, it broadcasts an adult contemporary format to Townsville, Queensland. First broadcast in 1931 on 1170 kHz AM, later 780 kHz, then became 774 kHz in the 1978 shakeup when all AM transmitters were shuffled into the 9 kHz spacing regime. In 1998 the station transferred to the FM band, under ownership of dmg Regional Radio – later sold to Macquarie Regional RadioWorks and Southern Cross Media Group. The station broadcasts all North Queensland Cowboys NRL matches, and has previously networked music programming to the regional LocalWorks network.

Central Queensland's Triple M is a commercial radio station broadcasting from Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. It is currently owned by Southern Cross Austereo and broadcasts an Adult Contemporary (AC) format. It features both locally produced content & nationally syndicated content. They have two repeaters, one at Gladstone (95.1FM) & Mount Murchison (101.1FM). It was previously known as '101.5/95.1 Sea FM' until it was rebranded as Triple M in December 2016, alongside many other Southern Cross Austereo stations. It is a part of the Triple M - Greatest Hits network.

West Digital Television is an Australian digital television network jointly owned by Prime Media Group and WIN Corporation. It broadcasts free-to-air on a number of digital terrestrial transmitters in regional and remote areas of Western Australia, as well as free-to-view on the Viewer Access Satellite Television service. The network is an affiliate of Network 10, broadcasting a direct feed of NEW-10 Perth. It was an affiliate of Network Ten until 1 July 2016 when it switched to the Nine Network. Then in 2021, it return to Network 10 in a major switchover.

Triple M Southwest is an adult contemporary-formatted commercial radio station, owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo. Based in Bunbury, Western Australia, it covers the south west of the state via a number of high-powered AM stations. It was previously known as RadioWest before a network wide rebranding to Triple M in late 2016.

Hit Western Australia Radio station

hit is an Australian commercial radio station broadcasting to regional areas of Western Australia. Owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo, the station broadcasts a contemporary hit radio music format with a breakfast show based from studios in Perth, Western Australia.
