David John Oliver Forbes OAM was an Australian sailor who competed for his country at three Olympics from 1968 to 1976. Forbes won an Olympic gold medal in the Star Class at Munich 1972 alongside John Anderson OAM. His sailing career spanned over 20 years and included a 5.5m World Championship in 1970, a Sydney to Hobart race in 1974, and ten Australian championships in the Star, 5.5m, Soling, and Etchells classes. He represented Australia at three Olympic Games – 1968 Mexico City, 1972 Munich, and 1976 Montreal, and was a member of two America’s Cup challenges. He was a part of the ‘Gretel II’ crew in the 1970 America’s Cup and was relief helmsman in the 1977 America’s Cup.

Together with his brothers Peter and Ulf he won a gold medal in the 5.5 metre class at the 1968 Olympics and a silver medal at the 1969 World Championships. The brothers also won the 1971 world title in the three-person keelboat and placed sixth and ninth at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics, respectively. Besides sailing, Jörgen and Peter also played ice hockey for Skuru IK.

He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for being a member of the 1980 US Olympic Sailing Team, which did not compete in the Soviet Union (Estonia) due to the boycott of the Olympic Games that year by President Jimmy Carter.
Stelios Mygiakis is a Greek Greco-Roman wrestler. He won and Olympic gold medal and is the first Greek to become an Olympic Champion in wrestling. Mygiakis also won a gold medal at both the European Wrestling Championships and Mediterranean Games. He was named the 1980 Greek Male Athlete of the Year. In 1971 Stylianos becomes Greek champion, was used in the featherweight and in the same year for the first time at an international championship, the World Cup in Sofia for the first time. There had Stylianos, who was only 19 years old, still belonging pay dearly, for he lost both fights, he had to deny prematurely. In the 1972 European Championship in Katowice but Sylianos already achieved three wins and reached a good 6th place. At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 Stylianos go again three wins, including one over the Soviet Favorites Jemal Megrelischwili which he came on the 7th Place.
Walter M. Glasgow Jr. is an American sailor. He was born in Houston, Texas. He won the 1975 Soling North American championship and finished 3rd in the 1975 Soling World Championship with John Kolius and Richard Hoepfner. He won a silver medal in the Soling Class with John Kolius and Richard Hoepfner at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He finished 3rd in the 1979 5.5 m World Championship in Hanko, Norway with Albert Fay. He won the 1981 J-24 World Championship at St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, California with John Kolius. He finished 2nd in the 1985 5.5 m U.S. Championship and 3rd in the 1985 5.5 m World Championship in Newport Beach, California with Robert Mosbacher. In 1997, he won the 5.5 m Scandinavian Gold Cup and finished 5th in the 5.5 m World Championship in Hanko, Norway with Robert Mosbacher and Lawrence Daniel.
