Steffin McCarter (born January 19, 1997) is an American track and field athlete who competes in the long jump. [1] McCarter competed in the long jump at the 2019 World Championships in Athletics where he advanced to the finals. [2] He was originally an alternate for the competition and earned his world championship berth after national champion Will Claye decided not to compete. [3] [4]

He represented the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. [5]

He won a bronze medal in 2011 World Championships in Athletics and the gold medals at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships and 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships. In his Olympic debut at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Claye won a bronze medal in long jump and a silver medal in triple jump. He repeated his silver medal in the triple jump four years later. His personal best of 18.14 m, set at the Jim Bush Southern California USATF Championships in Long Beach on June 29, 2019, ranks him as the No. 4 triple jumper of all time.

Jeffrey Henderson is an American track and field athlete who competes in the long jump and 100-meter dash. He has a personal record of 8.52 m for the long jump by winning the 2015 Pan Am Games gold medal. At the long jump at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Henderson captured gold for Team USA, its first in the event since 2004. Henderson added a silver medal at the 2019 outdoor world championships. Cameron Burrell was an American sprinter. He was the NCAA Division I champion over 100 meters in 2018, and anchored the Houston Cougars to victory in the 4 × 100 meters relay in 2017 and 2018. He ran for the United States 4 × 100 m relay team at the World Junior Championships in 2012 and the World Relays in 2019, with the team earning gold and silver from each competition respectively. Matthew Boling is an American track and field athlete specializing in the sprints and long jump. He won four gold medals at the 2019 Pan American U20 Championships in the 100 m, 200 m, 4 × 100 m relay and 4 × 400 m relay, and helped set world under-20 records in both of the relay races for the United States. He also ran in the semi-final for the American 4 × 400 m relay team at the 2018 World U20 Championships that went on to earn silver in the final. Boling would later go on to win a gold medal at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in the mixed 4 x 400 m relay, and would help set a world record for the event in the process.

Annie Elizabeth Kunz is an American track and field athlete who specializes in heptathlon. She represented United States of America at the Tokyo Olympics, 2019 World Athletics Championships, 2019 Pan American Games and two Thorpe Cups competing in women's heptathlon. She also played soccer in college for Texas A&M.

The men's long jump at the 2022 World Athletics Championships was held at the Hayward Field in Eugene on 15 and 16 July 2022. 34 athletes from 21 nations entered to the competition.
