Suraj Kumar (born 29 November 1988) is an Indian-born cricketer who plays as a wicketkeeper-batsman for the Oman national cricket team. [1] [2]
Suraj was born in Jalandhar district in the Indian state of Punjab, to a Nepalese immigrant family. [3] [4] His parents were originally from Baglung, Nepal. He moved to Oman as a teenager to work for a company, and started his cricket career there. [5]
In October 2018, he was named in Oman's squad for the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Oman. [6] He played in Oman's opening fixture of the tournament, against Kenya on 9 November 2018. [7] In December 2018, he was named in Oman's team for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. [8]
He was a member of Oman's team for the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament in Namibia, [9] and made his List A debut against the United States in the same tournament on 20 April 2019. [10] Oman finished in the top four places in the tournament, therefore gaining One Day International (ODI) status. [11] Kumar made his ODI debut for Oman on 27 April 2019, against Namibia, in the tournament's final. [12]
In September 2019, he was named in Oman's squads for the 2019–20 Oman Pentangular Series and the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. [13] He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Oman, against Hong Kong, on 5 October 2019. [14] In November 2019, he was named in Oman's squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh. [15] In September 2021, he was named in Oman's squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The Oman men's national cricket team is the team that represents the country of Oman in international matches and is governed by Oman Cricket, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2000, and gained associate status in 2014. The national side has played matches at the Twenty20 International level. On 24 April 2019, Oman achieved One-Day International status for the first time until 2023, after they beat tournament hosts Namibia by four wickets in 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two.

Sufyan Mehmood is an Omani cricketer, who plays for the Oman national cricket team. He played in the 2014 ICC World Cricket League Division Four tournament. Zeeshan Maqsood is a Pakistani-born cricketer who plays for the Oman national cricket team and is the captain of the national team. He has played for the team since 2012 and represented Oman at the 2016 and 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cups. In January 2022, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named Maqsood as the ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Year.

The 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was an international cricket tournament that took place in April 2019 in Namibia. It was contested by six teams; Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Papua New Guinea, the United States and tournament hosts Namibia. It formed part of the 2017–19 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL) which determined the qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The final and third-place playoff match were granted One Day International (ODI) status by the International Cricket Council. Namibia won the tournament, after they beat Oman by 145 runs in the final. It was Namibia's first win in an ODI match, and it was the first ever ODI match played by Oman.
Sandeep Goud is an Indian-born cricketer who plays for the Oman national cricket team. In February 2019, he was named in Oman's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the 2018–19 Oman Quadrangular Series in Oman. He made his T20I debut against the Netherlands on 15 February 2019. Five days prior to his T20I debut, he played in Oman's Development XI team, in a 20-over fixture against Ireland, top-scoring with 55 not out. He made his List A debut against Scotland on 19 February 2019, following the 2018–19 Oman Quadrangular Series.
