Tain River is a river, which flows through Jaman North District of the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. [1] It is a tributary of the Black Volta, and empties into the Atlantic Ocean. [2]

Táin Bó Cúailnge, commonly known as The Cattle Raid of Cooley or The Táin, is an epic from early Irish literature which is often called "The Irish Iliad", even though, like the Icelandic sagas and most other Early Irish literature, the Táin is written in prosimetrum, i.e. prose with periodic additions of verse composed by the characters. The Táin tells of a war against Ulster by Queen Medb of Connacht and her husband King Ailill, who intend to steal the stud bull Donn Cuailnge. Due to a curse upon the King and warriors of Ulster, the invaders are opposed only by teenaged demigod Cú Chulainn.

Tain District is one of the twelve districts in Bono Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Wenchi District on 10 March 1989; until the western part of the district was split off to create Tain District on 12 November 2003 ; thus the remaining part has been retained as Wenchi District. Later, the northern part of the district was split off to create Banda District on 28 June 2012; thus the remaining part has been retained as Tain District. Táin Bó Flidhais

Táin Bó Flidhais, also known as the Mayo Táin, is a tale from the Ulster Cycle of early Irish literature. It is one of a group of works known as Táin Bó, or "cattle raid" stories, the best known of which is Táin Bó Cúailnge. Táin Bó Flidhais survives in two forms, a short version from the Old Irish period and a longer version found in the 15th century Glenmasan manuscript, which is held in the Advocates Library in Edinburgh. It is believed to be a copy of an earlier manuscript from the 12th century. The early version of Táin Bó Flidhais predates the Táin Bó Cúailnge. It is named for the heroine of the tale, Flidais.

Tain & District Museum

The Tain & District Museum, is located in Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland. It is volunteer-run and is open April to October part of the Tain Through Time visitor centre. The museum was established in 1966 and has a collection of silver made in the local area.
