The Tallahassee Titans were an American Indoor Football Association team that began play as a 2007 member. The team played its home games at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Florida.
The owner of the team, David Morris had been given a choice from three markets: Charlotte, North Carolina, Greenville, South Carolina, or Tallahassee. He chose Tallahassee. Later on, the team had a name-the-team contest, followed by a poll. The finalists were:
On August 14, 2006, the team announced they would be the Tallahassee Titans.
On Wednesday, September 20, 2006, the Titans announced that their inaugural head coach would be Keven Jackson. Prior to being named head coach, he was the Assistant Head Coach and the Defensive Coordinator for the Canton Legends.
Starting with their Inaugural Home Game on February 17, 2007, Champion Broadcasting took over broadcast duties for the team. All of the home games starting with the first game against the Gulf Coast Raiders have been broadcast live on the Titans website, Champion Broadcasting's website, and, then, WUTL 106.1FM. The essential 'voice' of the Titans being Doc, with expert technical assistance by Anthony. Also starting with the Gulf Coast game, the Titans have had an official broadcast team, consisting of Play-by-Play Commentator Drew Goldfarb, Color Commentator and Analyst Brandon Beyer, the sell out, and Sideline Correspondent Courtney Jones. After the Titans home game against the Florence Phantoms, Brandon Beyer left the broadcast team for financial reasons. Taking over his role for the Lakeland Thunderbolts home game was Cory Safra. The team has not announced an official replacement for Beyer yet.
On August 12, 2007, the Titans announced that they would be joining the World Indoor Football League for the 2008 season. However, due to the WIFL folding, Tallahassee was left with no league to play in for 2008. In November/December 2007, Owner David Morris announced that the team would NOT play in 2008, though he did say that the team was folding, and remains optimistic about play in 2009.
On December 8 & 9, 2007, the Titans held a garage sale, with items like T-shirts, jerseys, helmets, shoulder pads, game-used footballs and coffee mugs up for grabs. The Titans also sold office equipment such as desks, chairs and filing cabinets. The sale was held on Friday from noon-6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Bob's Auto Repair on West Gaines Street in Tallahassee, Florida. All of the money went to salaries for players, coaches and front-office staff. The Titans finished 11-4 the spring of 2007 but ran out of money during their inaugural season. In early December the Civic Center terminated the Titans' three-year lease because the team owes the arena $40,000 that was due by October 1, 2007. So effectively, the Tallahassee Titans have folded. The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. Headquartered in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, the NLL currently has thirteen teams: eight in the United States and five in Canada. The NLL ranks third in average attendance for pro indoor sports worldwide, behind only the NHL and NBA. Unlike other box lacrosse leagues which play in the summer, the NLL plays its games in the winter and spring, from December to June. Each year, the playoff teams battle for the National Lacrosse League Cup. The NLL has averaged between 8,900 and 10,700 spectators per game each year since 2004.
The Arizona Rattlers are a professional indoor American football team based in Glendale, Arizona. They are currently members of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The Rattlers were founded in 1992 as an expansion team in the Arena Football League and were the third oldest active franchise in the AFL until their departure in 2016. They play their home games Gila River Arena while their former primary home, Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix undergoes renovations. The Rattlers are led by head coach Kevin Guy. Since the team's establishment in 1992, the Rattlers have won ten division titles and have played in nine ArenaBowl Championship games, winning championships in 1994, 1997, 2012, 2013, 2014. The Rattlers also won the 2017 United Bowl in their first season in the IFL.

The Rochester Raiders were a professional indoor football team based in the Rochester, New York area. They played their home games at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex in Rochester. The Raiders were previously a member of the Continental Indoor Football League from 2006 to 2008 and the American Indoor Football Association for two exhibition matches in 2008. In 2014, the Raiders came back and played as a member of American Indoor Football (AIF).
The Daytona Beach ThunderBirds were an arena football team based in Daytona Beach, Florida. They were founded in 2005 as the Daytona Beach Hawgs playing in the National Indoor Football League. In 2006, they changed their name to the Daytona Thunder and played in three different indoor football leagues over three seasons: the American Indoor Football League in 2006, the World Indoor Football League in 2007, and the AF2, the Arena Football League's developmental league, in 2008. They folded after the 2008 season. The Marquee player for the Thurnderbirds was 6'3" 230 pound Left handed Quarterback Matt Bohnet, an Eastern Michigan Graduate, who completed 160 out of 307 passes for 1,890 Yards 28 Touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
Monterrey La Raza were a Mexican professional indoor soccer team based in Monterrey, Mexico. Founded in 2007, the team played in the Major Indoor Soccer League.
The Peoria Pirates were a professional arena football team that last played in AF2, the minor league to the Arena Football League (AFL). They played their home games at Carver Arena, part of the Peoria Civic Center in Illinois, and were coached by Mike Hohensee and Bruce Cowdrey. The Pirates originally began play as a charter member of the original Indoor Football League in 1999.
The Tallahassee Thunder were an arena football team based in Tallahassee, Florida. They were inaugural members of the af2, the Arena Football League's developmental league. They played for three seasons from 2000 to 2002, when they folded. They played their home games at the Tallahassee–Leon County Civic Center.
The World Indoor Football League (WIFL) was an indoor football league founded by Harry Pierce, owner of the Rome Renegades and Raleigh Rebels of the American Indoor Football League. The league was a splinter league that formed after disgruntled ownership in the AIFL, caused significant turmoil and resulted in several teams leaving the league.

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is a professional indoor American football league created in 2008 out of the merger between the Intense Football League and United Indoor Football and is the biggest of all the leagues in the number of currently active teams. The league has operated continuously under the same name and corporate structure longer than any other current indoor football league. IFL players earn a minimum of US$200 per game played. The season is typically about 14 games long, plus playoffs of two or more rounds.
The Chesapeake Tide were a former professional Indoor Football team based in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The team began play in 2007 as an expansion team in the Continental Indoor Football League. The founding owner of the Tide was Martin Johnson. The Tide played its home games at The Show Place Arena. Midway through the 2008 season the team was acquired by Messay Hailermariam. Hailermariam folded the team at the end of the season and founded the Maryland Maniacs. Despite playing in the same arena with the same head coach, the Maniacs were not a continuation of the Tide.
The Florida Tarpons were a professional indoor football team based in Lakeland, Florida, out of the RP Funding Center. Originally established in Estero, Florida, and playing out of Germain Arena, they began play in 2012 as an expansion team of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). The Tarpons joined the X-League Indoor Football (X-League) during the 2015 season when the UIFL merged with the X-League. They played in the Arena Pro Football (APF) league in 2017 before the league became the American Arena League (AAL) for 2018. For 2019, there was an ownership transition that formed their own Florida-based league, called the A-League, and the team rebranded as the Lakeland Tarpons. The team was removed from the A-League schedule at the start of the 2019 season.
The River City Raiders were a professional indoor football team based in St. Charles, Missouri. They play their home games at Family Arena. As of February 2018 the River City Raiders website and social media pages have been removed. No formal announcement has ever been publicly made by the Raiders or their ownership after their final 2017 regular season game regarding their future or folding.
