The Terre Haute REX [4] are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Terre Haute, Indiana. They are a member of the summer collegiate Prospect League. [1]
They are managed by Tony Rosselli.
The Rex play home games at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stadium, also the home of Indiana State University's baseball team. [5]
The Terre Haute Rex are named after a prominent product with a historic connection to the community. Rex Coffee, produced by Clabber Girl, the “Imperial blend, fit for a Monarch” was roasted and packed in downtown Terre Haute, with a history dating back over a century. Patented in 1905, Rex Coffee was a household name from Chicago to Louisville; and from Cincinnati to St. Louis. The selection of the 'Rex' name continues a Terre Haute tradition of unique baseball team names that includes the Huts, Tots, Stags, Terre-iers and Highlanders. [6] [7] [8]
The Rex play in the Prospect League's Eastern Conference – Central Division along with the Danville Dans, Dubois County Bombers, Full Count Rhythm, and Normal CornBelters. [9]
In 2011, a new team fight song, titled "Come On Rex!" debuted at the home contests. "Come On Rex" was written by Alan Barcus, an Indiana State University alum and the composer of the popular song "You're My Cubs!" which has played inside Wrigley Field at Chicago Cubs home games for several seasons. The Indiana State University Athletics Department Facilities and Game Management crew were hired by the REX prior to the start of the 2012 season and were named the 2012 Prospect League Rookie Grounds Crew of the Year following the season. [11]
Manager Brian Dorsett was tabbed the Manager of the Year (sharing the honor with Dubois County's Ryan Anderson); the Rex also had three All-Stars. Relief Pitcher Nick Blount, Shortstop Nick Johnson and Centerfielder Kyle Kempf. [11]

Terre Haute is a city in and the county seat of Vigo County, Indiana, United States, about 5 miles (8 km) east of the state's western border with Illinois. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 58,389 and its metropolitan area had a population of 168,716.
Mordecai Peter Centennial Brown, nicknamed "Three Finger Brown" or "Miner", was an American Major League Baseball pitcher and manager during the first two decades of the 20th century. Due to a farm-machinery accident in his youth, Brown lost parts of two fingers on his right hand, and in the process gained a colorful nickname. He turned this handicap into an advantage by learning how to grip a baseball in a way that resulted in an exceptional curveball, which broke radically before reaching the plate. With this technique he became one of the elite pitchers of his era.

The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes are a collegiate summer league baseball team of the Prospect League. They play at Robin Roberts Stadium at Lanphier Park and are based in the city of Springfield, Illinois. The team was established in November 2007 as the Springfield Sliders and were an expansion franchise for the 2008 season. The Lucky Horseshoes and other collegiate summer leagues and teams exist to give top college players professional-like experience without affecting NCAA eligibility.
The Prospect League is a collegiate summer baseball league comprising teams of college players from North America and beyond. All players in the league must have NCAA eligibility remaining in order to participate. So as to maintain their college eligibility, players are not paid. Beginning in 2012, the league added four games to the season, making a total of 60 games per team.

Sycamore Stadium is a baseball stadium in Terre Haute, Indiana, United States. The venue is used by both the Indiana State Sycamores baseball team of the Missouri Valley Conference and the Terre Haute Rex of the college summer Prospect League. It has a capacity of 2,500 spectators.
The Indiana State Sycamores baseball team is the NCAA Division I baseball program of Indiana State University, located in Terre Haute, Indiana. It is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. The team last played in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship in 2024. Their first season was 1896. The Sycamores have had 12 All-Americans, 26 Major Leaguers, and more than 2,200 victories. The team's most successful season was in 1986, when the team appeared in the College World Series and finished with a record of 48–21. The Sycamores have appeared in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship in 1979, 1983, 1984, 1987, 1989, 1995, 2012, 2014, 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024.
The Nashville Outlaws were a collegiate summer baseball team of the Prospect League. They were located in Nashville, Tennessee, and were named for the city's association with country music, particularly the outlaw country genre which was popular during the late 1960s and 1970s. The team played its home games at Hawkins Field in 2010 and Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium in 2011. The Outlaws were established in 2010 as an expansion team of the Prospect League., but ceased operations after the 2011 season.
