Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is a sports video game developed by EA Tiburon for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and Mac OS X versions and Exient Entertainment for the Nintendo DS version and published by EA Sports for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and Mac OS X.

A sports game is a video game genre that simulates the practice of sports. Most sports have been recreated with a game, including team sports, track and field, extreme sports and combat sports. Some games emphasize actually playing the sport, whilst others emphasize strategy and sport management. Some, such as Need for Speed, Arch Rivals and Punch-Out!!, satirize the sport for comic effect. This genre has been popular throughout the history of video games and is competitive, just like real-world sports. A number of game series feature the names and characteristics of real teams and players, and are updated annually to reflect real-world changes. Sports genre is one of the oldest genres in gaming history.

Video game electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device such as a TV screen or computer monitor

A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a two- or three-dimensional video display device such as a TV screen, virtual reality headset or computer monitor. Since the 1980s, video games have become an increasingly important part of the entertainment industry, and whether they are also a form of art is a matter of dispute.

EA Tiburon video game development studio

EA Tiburon is an Electronic Arts video game development studio located in Maitland, Florida, United States founded in 1994. It was formerly known as Tiburon Entertainment, which was acquired by EA in 1998. EA had already purchased a minority equity interest in Tiburon in May 1996, the terms of which included that Tiburon would develop games exclusively for EA.

Technical problems

As of the North American launch, the game has been plagued with many bugs and technical problems. Known bugs include system "freezing" and crashing.[ citation needed ]

The PSP version also has a quite interesting glitch. In PGA tour mode, during a season, certain challenges become impossible to complete due to program errors. Most notably, during a challenge in which a golfer must master challenging shots from the rough, the avatar tees off from the top of a tree and the entire course is upside down. Regardless of how hard or straight the ball is hit, the result of any swing is an out of bounds shot, making it impossible to hole out in less than the 10 shot limit.

There are also reported problems with the uploading of pictures to the EA servers for the Photo Game Face feature. There seem to be problems mainly when the user attempts to browse for pictures on their computer. [1]

One supposed glitch that allows you to take shots from the water prompted EA to make a video proclaiming that Tiger can actually walk on water. [2] The action of taking a golf shot in the video game with a golfer standing in the water is known as the “Jesus shot”, in reference to Jesus walking on water.

Jesus walking on water one of the miracles of Jesus in the Gospels

Jesus walking on water is one of the miracles of Jesus recounted in the New Testament. There are accounts of this event in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and John, but is not included in the Gospel of Luke.

This system stores the reviews and uses them for purposes such as supporting a website where users can view the reviews, selling information to third parties about consumer tendencies, and creating databases for companies to learn about their actual and potential customers. The system enables users to easily compare many different reviews of the same work. Many of these systems calculate an approximate average assessment, usually based on assigning a numeric value to each review related to its degree of positive rating of the work.

Metacritic is a website that aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games, and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged. Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry.
