Muhammad Tulus or better known by his mononym Tulus (born 20 August 1987) is an Indonesian singer of Minangkabau descent. [5] [6]
His debut album, Tulus , was released in 2011. Rolling Stone Indonesia put this album on the top chart of Indonesia's Best Album and awarded for Tulus as Rookie of The Year in 2013. [7] His second album, Gajah , was released in 2013. 88,000 copies were produced and distributed since then, one of the largest CD productions in Indonesia (2014 - 2015). [8] It was the only music album in the Indonesian language that was listed in The Top 10 Best Selling Music Album in iTunes Asia, two months in a row after it was released. [9] The title of the album was chosen because it was a childhood nickname of Tulus. "Gajah" is also the title of one of the songs on the album. It also includes the songs "Tanggal Merah", "Satu hari di Bulan Juni", "Bumerang", "Gajah" and others. "Sepatu" was re-released with Japanese' version, entitled "Kutsu" (セパトゥ〜くつ〜) which translated by Hiroaki Kato, in iTunes on 10 October 2015. [10]
In 2016, his third studio album Monokrom was officially released on 3 August, by his own label Tulus Co. [11] It was also released under CD to 100 Indonesian music stores and also released in digital in Malaysia. [12]
The six music videos for both of Tulus' albums were released on his YouTube channel. They are titled "Sewindu", "Baru", "Gajah", and "Jangan Cintai Aku Apa Adanya". Tulus directed the music videos for "Teman Hidup" and "Sepatu". The music video for "Sepatu" was shot in Hamburg, Germany and "Baru" was shot in Tokyo, Japan. In 2016, Tulus shot the music video for "Pamit" in Prague, Czech Republic.
Tulus has performed six solo concerts, titled Tulus: An Introduction (2011), Tulus: Beyond Sincere (2012), Tulus: Diorama Concert (2013), Tulus: Gajah Concert Bandung (2014), Tulus: Gajah Concert Jakarta (2014), Tulus: Gajah Concert Yogyakarta (2015). He has also performed at Java Jazz, Java Soundsfair, Bali Live Jazz Festival, Soulnation, and at Sounds of Indonesia in Hamburg, Germany.
In October 2014, Tulus performed at the Anugerah Planet Muzik award ceremony in Singapore that was broadcast live in Malaysia and Indonesia. Tulus also won the "Best New Male Artist" award. [13]
In May 2015, Tulus represented Indonesia at the Asia Pacific Festival and International Music Conference of Music Matters 2015, held in Singapore. During this festival, Tulus performed twice for the conference attendees. In September 2015, he was invited to perform at Soundsekerta 2015. This event was created by Indonesian students community in Melbourne, Australia. Tulus was invited to perform at the Hamazo 10th Festival in Hamamatsu, Japan in October 2015. That same month, he appeared at Macquarie University Auditorium, Sydney. This event was created by the local Indonesian student community.
On 29 April 2016, Tulus joined the coaching panel of The Voice Kids Indonesia with Bebi Romeo and Agnez Mo. [14]
In addition to his albums, Tulus has collaborated on projects for brand activation campaigns. In 2014 - 2015, Tulus acted as a brand ambassador for Bend The Rules International campaign, held by Hewlett-Packard. Tulus released a new theme song in support of this campaign.
Tulus composed a single, entitled "Lekas", which was used on the soundtrack for the Indonesian movie, 3 Nafas Likas (2014). In mid 2015, Tulus created a song with Ran, an Indonesian music group, for that will be used in an ad campaign for Listerine.
Tulus Company is an independent music label company was founded by Tulus together with his brother, Riri Muktamar, in 2010. Tulus Company has two main business divisions: Tulus Management (Tulus Man.) and Tulus Production (Tulus Pro.). Tulus has written songs released in two albums through TulusCompany, an independent record label company that he co-founded with his older brother, Riri Muktamar. [15]

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. Active across seven decades, they are one of the most popular and enduring bands of the rock era. Sheila on 7 is an alternative rock band from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. They have changed their lineup several times since their formation on 6 May 1996. Their first lineup consisted of Akhdiyat Duta Modjo, Saktia "Sakti" Ari Seno (guitar), Eross Candra (guitar), Adam Muhammad Subarkah (bass) and Anton Widiastanto (drums). Anton left in 2004 while Sakti left in 2006, leaving their current lineup as it is but with Brian Kresna Putro replacing Anton in the drums until his departure in 2022.

Gary Lee Clark Jr. is an American blues guitarist and singer from Austin, Texas who fuses blues, rock and soul music with elements of hip hop. In 2011, Clark signed with Warner Bros Records and released The Bright Lights EP. It was followed by the albums Blak and Blu (2012) and The Story of Sonny Boy Slim (2015). God Bless is an Indonesian rock band founded in Jakarta in 1973 by Ahmad Albar, Jockie Soerjoprajogo, Fuad Hassan, Donny Fattah, and Ludwig Lemans. It continues to be active and has received several awards from the Indonesian music industry.
Indonesian pop singer Agnez Mo has released five studio albums, one greatest hits album, and five compilation albums. Agnez signed a recording contract with MM Records in 1994 and released her debut children studio album Si Meong. Unfortunately, her album was unsuccessful in the local market. In 1995, she moved and signed a recording contract with Musica Studios and released her duet album and also her second children studio album Yess! which saw success in the same market. She released her third children studio album Bala-Bala (1998) with Viva Music/Paragon Record. This was her last album as a child singer.

It was written by her, James "Jim Beanz" Washington, Rommel Cummings, Clifford Harris, Jr., David "Davix Grinehouse" Foreman, Jr., and Dashawn "Happie" White, while Jim Beanz and Davix Grinehouse also served as the producers of the song along with Wizz Dumb and Timbaland.
Winterplay (Korean: 윈터플레이) is a pop-jazz artist from South Korea who debuted in 2007. He has released four albums, with the last album titled Jazz Cookin' (2019). Juhan Lee, a producer, songwriter and trumpet player, created the project in November 2007 and by 2008, he succeeded signing an international distribution deal with Universal Music Japan for worldwide distribution. Winterplay has not only earned attention from Korea, but also creating waves in Japan and rest of the world as a first leader of "jazz hallyu". Lee's latest jazz ballad, “Gganbu ” was inspired by Netflix drama Squid Games featuring the Korean instrument, haegum. Winterplay was the Music Show Runner for International Jazz Day 2022, which was funded by the City of Seoul, and produced by Loudpigs Music, where he also served as the music producer. In the 90 mins show, Winterplay hosted the show, performed under the band he formed for the International Jazz Day 2022 occasion and directed over 30 jazz musicians in 4 venues in Seoul.
Isyana Sarasvati is an Indonesian singer-songwriter. She is a graduate of Singapore's Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and London's Royal College of Music. Known for her original compositions, she wrote all of the songs on her 2015 debut pop album, Explore! and on her three subsequent albums, Paradox (2017), Lexicon (2019) and ISYANA (2023). She has also performed as an opera singer in Singapore. She is the recipient of numerous Indonesian and international awards.
Gajah (Elephant) is the second studio album by Indonesian singer-songwriter Tulus. The album was released on February 19, 2014, by Demajors. The album occupied the eighth position in iTunes Indonesia in July. A few months after release, the single "Gajah" entered the charts in Indonesia. "Sepatu" had re-released single for Japanese' version "Kutsu" (セパトゥ〜くつ〜) and lyrically had translated by Hiroaki Kato, a Japanese artist. Other singles from the album were "1000 Tahun Lamanya" and "Jangan Cintai Aku Apa Adanya".
Ari Renaldi is an Indonesian music producer, composer, arranger, sound and mixing engineer, music director and musician. His production credits include Mocca, Tulus, Vidi Aldiano, Raisa Andriana, Afgan, Yura Yunita, Sezairi Sezali, Maudy Ayunda, Rossa, Ungu, Juicy Luicy, Yovie & Nuno amongst many others.
"Boy Magnet" is the second international single by Indonesian singer Agnez Mo. It was released by The Cherry Party on 13 November 2015, with five remixes of the song being available for download. The song was remixed by Hector Fonseca, John Dish, Tommy Love and Xavi Alfaro, while the original version is expected to appear on her upcoming debut international album.
Judika Nalom Abadi Sihotang, known mononymously as Judika, is an Indonesian singer and actor. He has released seven albums and received multiple awards including Anugerah Musik Indonesia and Anugerah Planet Muzik. Three of his songs were featured as soundtracks in Indonesian drama series.
