Uganda competed at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary from 14 to 30 July.
Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East-Central Africa. It is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the south-west by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania. Uganda is in the African Great Lakes region. Uganda also lies within the Nile basin, and has a varied but generally a modified equatorial climate.
The 17th FINA World Championships were held in Budapest, Hungary from 14 to 30 July 2017.
Budapest is the capital and the most populous city of Hungary, and the tenth-largest city in the European Union by population within city limits. The city had an estimated population of 1,752,704 in 2016 distributed over a land area of about 525 square kilometres. Budapest is both a city and county, and forms the centre of the Budapest metropolitan area, which has an area of 7,626 square kilometres and a population of 3,303,786, comprising 33 percent of the population of Hungary.
Uganda has received a Universality invitation from FINA to send three swimmers (two men and one woman) to the World Championships. [1]
FINA or Fédération internationale de natation is the international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for administering international competition in water sports. It is one of several international federations which administer a given sport or discipline for the IOC and international community. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The Uganda national football team, nicknamed The Cranes, is the national team of Uganda and is controlled by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations. Their best finish in the Africa Cup of Nations was second in 1978.
Milutin Sredojević simply known as Micho is a Serbian football coach and former player who manages Orlando Pirates in South Africa. He was the manager of the Ugandan national team, FK Palić, FK Spartak Subotica, Yugoslavia U20, FK Hajduk Kula, Villa SC in Uganda, Saint-George SA in Ethiopia, Orlando Pirates in South Africa, Young Africans FC in Tanzania, Saint-George SA, Al-Hilal Omdurman in Sudan, Rwanda national team.
Joseph Nestroy Kizito is an Ugandan former professional footballer who plays as a defender.
The Middle East–Africa Region was one of the eight "international" (non-U.S.) regions that participated in the Little League World Series from 2008 to 2012. The Arabian-American Little League in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia won each of the three MEA championships until 2011 when the Reverend John Foundation Little League from Kampala, Uganda won the tournament, however the team from Uganda was not able to participate after their visa applications to enter the United States were denied, and Dhahran was invited to participate in their place. In 2012, a team from Lugazi, Uganda won the tournament.
Geofrey Kusuro is a Ugandan long-distance runner. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the men's 5000 m, not reaching the final. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the Men's 5000 metres, finishing 37th overall in Round 1, failing to qualify for the final. He also represented Uganda at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships.
The Uganda national basketball team represents Uganda in international basketball competitions. It is administrated by the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA).

The Mixed relay race at the 2017 IAAF World Cross Country Championships was held at the Kampala in Uganda, on March 26, 2017. It was the first time this event was held at the World Cross Country Championships. 13 teams took part in the inaugural race. A team made by Refugee Athletes were set to compete, but they were unable to travel on time.
