Unduk Ngadau 2023 was the 63rd edition of Unduk Ngadau pageant which was held on 31 May 2023 at Hongkod Koisaan, Penampang, Sabah, Malaysia. Frenerietta Sobitun of Sandakan crowned her successor, Carol Abbey Gail of Papar, at the end of the event. [1] [2]

The Sarawak section of the Federal Route 1, Asian Highway Route AH 150, also known as Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak or Sarawak First Trunk Road, is a 1077-km federal highway in Sarawak, Malaysia, making the highway as the longest component of the Malaysian portion of the larger Pan Borneo Highway network. Construction of the highway began in 1965 after Sarawak became a member of the federation of Malaysia in 1963.

United Borneo Alliance, was formed by Jeffrey Kitingan in 2012 after he launched the Sabah chapter of Sarawak-based State Reform Party (STAR). Jeffrey also had earlier set-up the preceding United Borneo Front (UBF), the formation of an alliance comprising the State Reform Party (STAR), United Sabah National Organisation (USNO), Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and Sarawak National Party (SNAP). The Borneo-based parties from Sabah and Sarawak which would be promoting of the "One country, two systems" just like the Hong Kong and Macau status in China which similarly was an initiative with the platform to educate the people to make a change in themselves first and ultimately to bring Sabahan and Sarawakian to better quality of life and a more progressive country.

Miss Universe Malaysia 2017, the 51st edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 23 February 2017 at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Samantha James of Kuala Lumpur of was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Kiran Jassal of Selangor at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant in Las Vegas, United States.

Unduk Ngadau 2022 was the 62nd edition of the Unduk Ngadau pageant. The pageant was held on 31 May 2022 at Hongkod Koisaan Hall, Kadazandusun Cultural Association, Penampang, Sabah. This year, Kaamatan was held extravagantly after a couple of years facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Frenerietta Sobitun of Sandakan was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Maya Hejnowska of Api-Api, at the end of the event.

Unduk Ngadau 2021, the 61st edition of the Unduk Ngadau, was held on 31 May 2021 at Hongkod Koisaan Hall, KDCA, Penampang, Sabah. Maya Hejnowska of Api-Api was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Francisca Ester Nain of Karambunai at the end of the event. Different from the Unduk Ngadau editions of the past years, this edition was held with a strict health protocol as it was still in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Miss World Malaysia 2022 was the 54th edition of Miss World Malaysia. The pageant was held at Sipadan Hall, Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Wenanita Angang is a Malaysian data scientist, advocate of hippotherapy for autistic children, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss World Malaysia 2022. She was born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, and is of mixed Dusun Tatana and Murut descent.
