V6 News is a Telugu news channel in the Indian state of Telangana, owned by VIL. [1] It was launched in March 2012, and provides 24-hour news. It was founded by Ravi Ankam, who is its CEO and chief editor.
V6 News Channel evolved during the Telangana statehood movement, addressing the need for comprehensive coverage of events about Telangana, and reflecting the state’s perspectives. [2] Professor Padmaja Shaw, Department of Communication and Journalism, Osmania University, India, said in one of her articles how the Telangana perspective had limited representation prior to the launch of V6 channel and how the channel played a key role in spreading the Telangana viewpoint. The channel telecasts news on politics and current affairs and focuses on reporting regional issues, local sentiments, and developments statewide. It has a reporting network in both Telugu states. It presents news, adhering to its motto, "News As It Is," and the standard of objectivity and fairness. Though it runs various programs, its flagship program, "Teenmaar Varthalu" (started on 1 Feb 2013), which presents news in the Telangana dialect, is widely recognized in the Telugu-speaking community and is later emulated by other Telugu News channels in the state too. The then Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao also mentioned V6 news channel's role in presenting and shaping up Telangana culture and its flagship program, Teenmar Varthalu. [4] V6 News also produced various festival-related songs (Batukamma and Bonalu festivals) that depicted Telangana's cultural heritage and identity. It also gained recognition for initiatives, such as inviting a transgender for news reading in Telugu. [5] The channel gradually grew in popularity and won the heart of Telangana people (Telangana Gunde Chappudu). V6 News also launched “Prabhata Velugu,” a Telugu newspaper on Oct 5, 2018.
The channel has received several awards. Within nine months of its launch, it received national-level recognition bagging four National Television (NT) awards, given by Indian Television Pvt. Ltd and in its second year it received another seven NT awards.
It received a UNICEF award for children's programming. [9]
Ravi Ankam, the founder of the channel, won the "Game Changer" award (2021) in recognition of his contribution to the South News Media. [10]

It also had some non Telugu-language satellite television channels. All non-Telugu satellite television channels were acquired by Reliance Industries-owned TV18 for ₹2,053 crore in FY 2014–15 and later rebranded.

TV9 Telugu is an Indian Telugu-language 24-hour news channel focusing on the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It formally launched on 1 February 2004 with a 15-day trial run before the formal launch. It is headquartered in Hyderabad. Along with its rival ETV2, it is the oldest 24-hour news channel in Telugu.

She also received a National Award from All India Radio under light music category when she was 15 years old. She received her first Nandi award in the year 1999 and bagged Nandi Awards in a row for the years 2002 to 2006 and again for the years 2010 to 2012. She was also honored with Lata Mangeshkar Best Singer Award for 2011 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Gorati Venkataiah, better known as Goreti Venkanna, is an Indian poet and singer known for his works in Telugu literature. He became popular after his song "Palle Kanneru Peduthundo" in the film Kubusam. He also acted as a judge for the folk song program Rela Re Rela on Star Maa. In November 2020, Goreti was nominated as a Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in Telangana. In 2021, he won the Sahitya Akademi Award in poetry category for his work Vallanki Taalam.
HMTV is an Indian 24-hour Telugu news channel launched on 12 February 2009. The channel is operated by Hyderabad Media Pvt. Ltd, which also runs the English newspaper The Hans India. HMTV is a part of Kapil Group, promoted by K. Vaman Rao. Kapil Group is a business conglomerate of over 30 companies whose first company, Kapil Chit Funds was started in 1981. The current CEO of the channel is Mrs. Lakshmi Rao.
Sakshi TV is an Indian Telugu-language 24-hour news channel. It was launched on 1 March 2009, by Indira Television Ltd. owned by Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is currently run under the chairmanship of Y. S. Bharathi Reddy, wife of Jagan Mohan Reddy. The media group also owns the Telugu daily newspaper, Sakshi.
Shekar Basha is an Indian radio jockey. He is the only RJ in India to have won the Excellence in Radio Award 18 times, the Latest being India radio forum's "RJ of the year 2019", India's most prestigious award for a radio jockey. According to a survey conducted by The Times of India (TOI) published on 18 May 2018, he is one of the "top 10 Most Desirable Men on Television". TOI termed him as "The original radio guru who won tons of applause for his signature brand of infotainment, with equally successful stint on TV". As a VJ, he received Best Video Jockey of the year 2016 of Padma Mohana awards held at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad on 23 August 2016.
10TV is an Indian Telugu-language 24-hour news channel focused on the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It was launched on 16 March 2013 with the backing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM). The channel was funded through crowdfunding from various affiliated associations and unions of CPM. It was marketed as an independent channel with a co-operative type ownership, free from the influences of big businesses. In 2018, there was a change in the ownership of the channel. It was reportedly bought by business houses close to some politicians.

ETV Andhra Pradesh is an Indian Telugu-language 24-hour news channel focusing on the state of Andhra Pradesh. The channel was launched by the media conglomerate ETV Network owned by Ramoji Group on 28 December 2003 as ETV2. Along with its rival TV9 Telugu, it is the oldest 24-hour news channel in Telugu. In May 2014, after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the channel was renamed as ETV Andhra Pradesh, while the then recently launched ETV3 channel was renamed as ETV Telangana.
