It operates buses, light rail, commuter rail, and high-occupancy vehicle lanes in Dallas and twelve of its suburbs. In 2023, the system had a ridership of 50,463,300, or about 166,900 per weekday as of the fourth quarter of 2023.

It opened on June 14, 1996, and is a station on the Red, Blue, Green, and Orange lines, serving the West End Marketplace, Dallas Alley, the Dallas World Aquarium and Zoo, the Sixth Floor Museum, Dealey Plaza, the Old Red Courthouse with its Dallas Visitors Center and El Centro College and is within walking distance of the American Airlines Center and the rest of Victory Park.
Dallas Union Station, officially Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station, also known as Dallas Union Terminal, is a large intermodal railroad station in Dallas, Texas. It is the third busiest Amtrak station in Texas, behind Fort Worth Central Station and San Antonio station. It serves DART Light Rail Blue and Red lines, Trinity Railway Express commuter rail and Amtrak intercity rail. It is located on Houston Street, between Wood and Young Streets, in the Reunion district of Downtown Dallas. The structure is a Dallas Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

D2 Subway is a proposed 2.4 mi (3.9 km) expansion of the DART Light Rail system in metropolitan Dallas, Texas, in the United States. The subway would run from the existing Victory station, tunneling underground through the city centre of downtown Dallas, and connect to the existing tunnel under Cityplace. Four new stations would be built along the new alignment.
