Walnut Creek is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States, located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, about 16 miles (26 km) east of the city of Oakland. With a total estimated population of 70,166, Walnut Creek serves as a hub for its neighboring cities because of its location at the junction of the highways from Sacramento and San Jose (I-680) and San Francisco/Oakland (SR-24) and its accessibility by BART. Its active downtown neighborhood features hundred-year-old buildings and extensive high-end retail establishments.
Kezar Stadium is an outdoor athletics stadium in San Francisco, California, located adjacent to Kezar Pavilion in the southeastern corner of Golden Gate Park. It is the former home of the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League (NFL) and of the San Francisco Dragons of Major League Lacrosse. Acalanes Union High School District is a public high school district in southwest/central Contra Costa County in California. It currently has four schools: Acalanes High School in Lafayette, Campolindo High School in Moraga, Las Lomas High School and The Acalanes Center for Independent Study in Walnut Creek, and Miramonte High School in Orinda. A fifth campus, Del Valle High School located in Walnut Creek was closed at the end of the 1978–1979 school year and remaining students were transferred to Acalanes, Campolindo, and Las Lomas High Schools. The district's alternative school, Del Oro High School, opened on the former site of Del Valle High School, closed following the 2009–2010 school year, although the district still operates Acalanes Adult Education at the Del Valle Education Center in Walnut Creek. John Nickerson has served as the district's Superintendent since May, 2011.
Las Vegas High School is a public high school in Sunrise Manor, Nevada, part of the Clark County School District. It is the oldest high school in Las Vegas and originally opened 116 years ago in 1905 on what was then the outskirts of town. The school's first campus was made a permanent location in 1904 with a tent that opened in 1905. After 29 years the school made a new campus in 1930 that opened in 1931. Then, after 62 years the school moved to a new campus in 1993, located on the east side of Las Vegas along the foothills of Frenchman Mountain.

It was founded in 1951 by the Acalanes Union High School District, and opened its doors in the fall of 1952 to its first graduating class. Las Lomas was the second of five schools built within the Acalanes Union High School District. It is a traditional high school serving grades 9-12, and has a history of both athletic and educational excellence. The school has a strong college preparatory program as well as many extracurricular programs. The colors of the school are maroon and gold and the school mascot is the Knight. Las Lomas had 1,482 students in 2011-12. The school has a 96.4% graduation rate, and about 97% of its graduates attend college. U.S. News & World Report ranked Las Lomas #372 in the nation in 2013. It was voted a National Blue Ribbon School in 2008.
Palm Springs Stadium is a stadium in Palm Springs, California. It is primarily used for baseball. It used to be named Angels Stadium and was the home field of the Palm Springs Suns of the Western Baseball League in 1995 and 1996. Palm Springs Stadium is the home of the Palm Springs Power, of the collegiate summer Palm Springs Collegiate League. In 2018 and 2019, the stadium is the official home of the Palm Springs Collegiate League and the California Winter League (2010), also shared with Palm Springs High School baseball field. The stadium has a seating capacity of 5,185.

Dylan Casey is a retired American professional cyclist, who rode for U.S. Postal Service alongside Lance Armstrong. His career began in 1990 and ended in 2003. Over that time, Casey won 12 major races with a team or on his own. He also competed in the Sydney Olympics and won a gold medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. He is a 2 time Professional National Time Trial Champion and in 1999 won National Championships for both the Time Trial and Individual Pursuit; one of only 3 Americans to ever do so. Casey served as a Product Manager at Google, (2003-2011) during which time he helped design their social offering Google+ as well as their famous black bar. Casey left Google for Path in early December 2011. He joined Yahoo! as a Senior Director of Consumer Platforms in May, 2013.

Founded in 2008, the team was a member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. The team and Southwest Division went on hiatus from the NPSL for the 2009 season due to a lack of teams in the Southwest Division after the 2008 season. As of 2010 neither the Southwest Division nor SD United are listed as being part of NPSL.

Jason Michael Welch is an American amateur wrestler. As a high school wrestler at Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, California, Welch was the 13th wrestler ever to win 3 state championships. In 2008, Welch graduated and signed with Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Welch is a four-time national qualifier and in 2011, became an NCAA All-American. He is a three-time All-American.
