Widow Donaldson Place is a historic home located at Peters Township in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1775, and is a two-story, log dwelling, measuring 24 feet by 20 feet. It has a full-length, two-story front porch and massive rubble sandstone chimney. Also on the property is a late-18th or 19th century summer kitchen. [2]

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. [1]

Quakertown station Historic train station

The Quakertown Passenger and Freight Station is a historic train station and freight depot located at Quakertown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The two buildings were designed by Wilson Bros. & Company in 1889 and built by Cramp and Co. for the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad in 1902. The passenger station is constructed of dark Rockhill granite and Indiana limestone and is in a Late Victorian style. It is 1+12 stories tall and measures 25 feet wide by 97 feet 6 inches, long. It has a hipped roof with an eight-foot overhang. The freight station is a 1+12-story, rectangular stone block building measuring 128 by 30 feet. Also on the property is a large crane that was used for freight movement. The Quakertown station had passenger rail service along the Bethlehem Line to Bethlehem and Philadelphia until July 27, 1981, when SEPTA ended service on all its intercity diesel-powered lines. SEPTA still owns the line and leases it to the East Penn Railroad. Other towns, stations, and landmarks on the Bethlehem Line are Perkasie, Pennsylvania, Perkasie Tunnel, and Perkasie station.

William Donaldson House United States historic place

William Donaldson House is a historic home located at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1888, and is a 3 1/2-story Queen Anne style dwelling. A rear addition was constructed about 1910. It has a stone foundation, brick first story, and wood shingle second and third stories. It features irregular massing, a variety of surface textures, multiple intersecting roofs, bay windows, porch and balconies, and a turret with spindle. The house was converted to apartments in 1925.

Hugh Laughlin House is a historic home located at Redstone Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It consists of two sections. The older was built between about 1785 and 1795, and is a two-story, three bay, stone structure in the Georgian style. It measures 26 feet by 30 feet. A 1 1/2-story sandstone section was added between about 1800 and 1810. It measures 22 feet by 20 feet. Also on the property are the ruins of a large brick spring house.

Bowmansville Roller Mill, also known as the Von Nieda Mill, is a historic roller mill and national historic district located at Bowmansville, Brecknock Township in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The district encompasses two contributing buildings and one contributing structure. The grist / roller mill was built in 1850, and is a 3 1/2-story, rectangular brownstone building measuring 45 feet by 50 feet, 5 inches. The property includes a two-story, brownstone and frame sawmill, and a headrace and tailrace. The mills closed about 1945.

The Pitcairn Building, also known as the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company Building, is a historic warehouse and light manufacturing loft building located at 1027 Arch Street at the corner of N. 11th Street in the Chinatown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was designed by noted Philadelphia architects G. W. & W. D. Hewitt and built in 1901. It is an eight-story, steel frame building clad in brick and granite with terra cotta details. The building measures approximately 74 feet wide and 172 feet deep. It was originally built as a regional distribution center for the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company. It later housed a clothing manufacturer, H. Daroff and Sons, who originated the "Botany 500" brand.

The building was designed by Henry deCourcy Richards and built in 1909–1910. It is a three-story, five-bay by three-bay, brick building on a raised basement in the Colonial Revival style. It has a three-story, rear brick addition built in 1922. It features a pedimented cornice, brick parapet, projecting central section, and a two-story arched opening above the main entrance. Grays Road Recreation Center is a historic recreation center located in the Grays Ferry neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was designed by John T. Windrim and built in 1926–1927. It is a 2+12-story, five-bay by nine-bay, red-brick building on in the Colonial Revival style. It has a gable roof with dormers, centrally placed arched entryway with stone surround, and two internal brick chimneys. The interior features a two-story auditorium, measuring 50 feet by 30 feet. The building was funded by the Richard Smith Family Trust.

Allegheny River Lock and Dam No. 6 United States historic place

Allegheny River Lock and Dam No. 6 is a historic lock and fixed-crest dam complex located at Bethel Township and South Buffalo Township in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. It was built between 1927 and 1928 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and consists of the lock, dam, esplanade, Operations Building, and two locktenders' houses. The lock measures 56 feet by 360 feet, and has a lift of 12.4 feet. The dam measures approximately 20 feet high and 992 feet long. The Operations Building, or powerhouse, is a utilitarian two-story building in a vernacular early-20th century revival style. The locktenders' houses are identical two-story, brick dwellings on concrete foundations. The lock and dam were built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a part of an extensive system of locks and dams to improve navigation along the Allegheny River.

Hunters Mill Complex United States historic place

Hunter's Mill Complex, also known as Rush's Mill, is a historic grist mill complex located on a rise above Perkiomen Creek in Hereford Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. The complex consists of a three-story mill built about 1792-1793; 2 1/2-story, five bay Federal style stone dwelling built in 1794, mid-19th century stone and frame Pennsylvania bank barn; two 1 1/2-story stone summer kitchens; and a late 18th-century stone walled garden. The mill measures 45 feet by 36 feet. The house has a Georgian floor plan and measures 45 feet by 45 feet.

Ship Inn United States historic place

Ship Inn is a historic inn and tavern located in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1796, and is a two-story, six bay, Georgian style stone building with brick chimneys. The main block measures 50 feet by 37 feet, with a rear kitchen wing measuring 29 feet by 20 feet. It remained in operation as an inn until 1854. In the 20th century, a restaurant opened in the building.

West Chester Boarding School for Boys United States historic place

West Chester Boarding School for Boys, also known as Square House, is a historic boarding school and national historic district located in West Chester, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1836 as a private academy, and is a three-story, five bay by four bay, brick building in the Federal style. It measures 40 feet by 49 feet and has a low pitched gable roof with widow's walk. The front facade has a two-story portico added in the mid-19th century. The school closed in 1862, after which the building was used as a private residence.

Gideon Wickersham Farmstead United States historic place

Gideon Wickersham Farmstead, also known as "Hame's Best," is a historic home located near Kennett Square, East Marlborough Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The farmhouse was built in 1818, and is a square stone dwelling in a vernacular Georgian style. The home measures 30 by 30 feet and is constructed of schist and serpentine stone. To the east of the stone core is a 19th-century clapboard addition. The house has a two-story, frame addition with a flat roof. Also on the property is a contributing barn.

Amory Ballroom United States historic place

The Amory Ballroom is the only surviving remnant of a large summer estate house off Old Troy Road in Dublin, New Hampshire. Built in two stages, it is an architecturally distinctive reminder of the community's early 20th-century period as a summer resort area. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
