Media reaction

Fox News and Bulgarian national bTV were the first TV channels to report on Wirtland. bTV organized an online interview with three witizens of Bulgarian origin on February 11, 2009 [2] [3] whilst Fox 45 Morning News of Baltimore, Maryland featured an interview about Wirtland with reporter Larry Fiorino on January 20, 2009. [4] On November 4, 2011, Wirtland appeared on Slovenian TV channel Sponka.tv. [5] In February 2015 Spain's premier radio Cadena SER published interview with Wirtland's representative. [6] On July 29, 2015, Wirtland was covered on main Bolivian TV channel Red ATB. [7] Wirtland has also been covered by CNN Türk, [8] Voice of Russia, [9] PC World, [10] Computerworld, [11] Milliyet, [12] Sabah, [13] Dneven Trud. [14]

In 2009, Wirtland released its first gold coin, the "Wirtland Crane" (10 International Currency Units, ICU). [15] The Wirtland Crane – a 1/10 oz. coin minted in 24 carat gold - became the world's first gold coin produced by an internet-based (virtual) country. [16] The gold "Crane" was soon followed by the first silver coin, similarly titled the "Silver Crane" (2 ICU). [17]

Enyu Valchev Dimov was a lightweight freestyle wrestler from Bulgaria. He competed at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Olympics and won a bronze, gold and silver medal, respectively. At the World championships, he won gold in 1962, silvers in 1959 and 1969 and bronze in 1967, while finishing fourth in 1965, fifth in 1966 and sixth in 1963. At the European Championships Valchev won gold medals in 1968 and 1969 and a bronze in 1967. In 1962 Valchev was selected as Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year.

Bengü Erden is a Turkish singer. She became first familiar with music during her time at the İzmir State Symphony Orchestra. In İzmir, she was cast in a leading role in the musical "Oliver Twist". In 1998, by performing a song by Müfit Bayşara, she ranked second at the competition Pop Show '98, organized by Mü-Yap and Show TV. She then studied music at Istanbul Academy. The song was distributed by Yellow Productions and Ministry of Sound Australia. The track was on the top charts of Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.

<i>Diriliş: Ertuğrul</i> 2014 Turkish television series

Diriliş: Ertuğrul, translated as Resurrection: Ertuğrul, is a Turkish historical fiction and adventure television series produced by Mehmet Bozdağ for TRT, starring Engin Altan Düzyatan as Ertuğrul Bey. The show is set in the 13th century and is based on the life of Ertuğrul, the father of Osman I, the founder of the Ottoman Empire.
