Mifflin County is a county in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 46,682. Its county seat is Lewistown. The county was created on September 19, 1789, from parts of Cumberland County and Northumberland County. It was named for Thomas Mifflin, the first Governor of Pennsylvania.
Lewistown is a borough in and the county seat of Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is the principal city of the Lewistown, PA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Mifflin County. It lies along the Juniata River, 61 miles (98 km) northwest of Harrisburg. The number of people living in the borough in 1900 was 4,451; in 1910, 8,166; in 1940, 13,017; and in 2000, 8,998. The population was 8,338 at the 2010 census. Of the four communities in the United States named "Lewistown", this borough is the largest.

The well-situated station is the primary hub for passenger rail and intercity bus services in the Harrisburg metropolitan area and South Central Pennsylvania.
The Allegheny County Courthouse in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is part of a complex designed by H. H. Richardson. The buildings are considered among the finest examples of the Romanesque Revival style for which Richardson is well known.
The Embassy Theatre is a historic theatre building located on South Main Street in Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. It is a 1927 motion picture / vaudeville theatre, and is an excellent surviving example of theatre architecture of the 1920s. The original National Theatre building was built in 1916, and gutted in 1927 to be rebuilt as the Embassy. The front facade features eclectic Colonial Revival details. It has a rectangular marquee measuring 33 feet, 6 inches, by 10 feet, 6 inches, overall. The theatre closed in 1981, and is currently non operational and is undergoing restoration.
The Cogan House Covered Bridge is a Burr arch truss covered bridge over Larrys Creek in Cogan House Township, Lycoming County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It was built in 1877 and is 94 feet 2 inches (28.7 m) long. The bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and had a major restoration in 1998. The Cogan House bridge is named for the township and village of Cogan House, and is also known by at least four other names: Buckhorn, Larrys Creek, Day's, and Plankenhorn.
The former Reading Municipal Building is a historic building at 49 Pleasant Street in Reading, Massachusetts. Built in 1885, this two-story brick building was the town's first municipal structure, housing the town offices, jail, and fire station. In 1918 all functions except fire services moved out of the building. It now serves as Reading's Pleasant Street Senior Center. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
The Montgomery Ward Building is a historic department store building located at Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. The east facade faces the Mifflin County Courthouse on Monument Square. It was built in 1929 in the Art Deco style, and consists of the store building and attached office building. The store is two-stories, with a mezzanine level and measures approximately 40 feet by 150 feet. The office building is two-stories and measures approximately 30 feet by 145 feet. They are both of steel frame construction with brick exterior walls and feature terra cotta ornamentation. It was one of the initial retail outlets constructed by the Montgomery Ward Company.

The Lewis County Courthouse is located at 100 E. Lafayette St. in Monticello, Missouri. The Second Empire style courthouse was designed by J.T. McAllister of McAllister & Co., and built in 1875. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
The Old DuPage County Courthouse is a Richardsonian Romanesque style court house designed by Mifflin E. Bell in Wheaton, Illinois, United States. The building served as the seat of government for DuPage County, Illinois from its construction in 1896, until a new courthouse was built in 1990.
Penrose Wolf Building, also known as the Rockwood Opera House, is a historic commercial building located at Rockwood, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The front section was built in 1898, and is a two-story, wood-frame structure measuring 30 feet by 60 feet. The rear section was added in 1905, and is a three-story, yellow brick structure measuring 50 feet by 75 feet. In the early 20th century, the upper floor of the wood frame section housed "the Opera House." The rear section was designed for heavy commercial use and housed a grain and lumber storage facility. In 2000 the building was purchased by Judith Pletcher and restored to working order. Currently housing shoppes, restaurants and live entertainment in the Opera House.
Lewistown Armory is a historic National Guard armory located at Derry Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1938, and is a one-story, "I"-plan brick building with an exposed basement executed in the Colonial Revival style. It consists of a front administrative section with a drill hall and former stable area behind. The front and stable buildings have hipped roofs, while the drill hall has a gable roof. The drill hall measures 60 feet by 90 feet.
Mifflin County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1842–1843, and is a 2 1/2-story, brick building in the Greek Revival style. It is three-bays wide and the original building measured 48 feet by 82 feet. It was enlarged by 48 feet to the rear in 1878. It features a pedimented entryway with two engaged pilasters and prominent cupola.
McCoy House is a historic home located at Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, across from the Mifflin County Courthouse. It was built between 1836 and 1843, and is a 2 1/2-story, brick and frame dwelling in the Federal style. It has a gable roof and a double chimney linked at the base. Frank Ross McCoy was born in the house in 1874.
Chamberlin Iron Front Building is a historic commercial building located at Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1868, and is a three-story, brick building with a two-story rear addition in the Italianate style. It measures 56 feet wide and 160 feet deep. The main section has a flat roof and the addition a gable roof. It features a cast-iron front manufactured in Danville, Pennsylvania. Over the years the building has housed a general store, shoe store, feed store, and post office, as well as fraternal organizations on the upper floors.
Struthers Library Building, also known as the Library Theatre, is a historic library and theatre building located at Warren, Warren County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1883, and is a red brick building in three sections. It measures 73 feet wide by 162 feet deep. The front section is three stories high with a corner tower. The second floor housed a library and the third a meeting hall, which was originally used as the town's Masonic Temple. It has a marquee on the front elevation. Behind the front section is the auditorium and behind that a three-story section with dressing rooms and stage. The auditorium was originally built as a Victorian opera house. The building was renovated in 1919 by the architectural firm of Warren and Wetmore. During the 1919 renovation, the auditorium was modified to make it suitable for movies and traveling vaudeville shows. In 1983, the auditorium underwent an extensive restoration, preserving the details of the 1919 renovation.
Lewistown station, also known as Burlington Northern Railroad Station at Lewistown and Lewiston Depot, is a historic train station located at Lewistown, Lewis County, Missouri. It was built in 1871 by the Quincy, Missouri, and Pacific Railroad, and is a one-story, gable roofed, frame building with wide overhanging eaves. It measures 24 feet, 6 inches, by 50 feet, 6 inches, and is sheathed in vertical board and batten siding. It was moved to its present location in 1977 to house a community centre.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 as U.S. Post Office and Federal Building – Lewistown.
The Huntoon Residence, at 722 W. Water in Lewistown, Montana, was built in 1916. It was designed by architects Link and Haire. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
