The men's freestyle featherweight was a freestyle wrestling event held as part of the Wrestling at the 1924 Summer Olympics programme. [1] It was the fourth appearance of the event. Featherweight was the second-lightest category, including wrestlers weighing from 56 kilograms to 61 kilograms.

Freestyle wrestling style of amateur wrestling

Freestyle wrestling is a style of amateur wrestling that is practiced throughout the world. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic games. American high school and college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling.

At the 1924 Summer Olympics thirteen wrestling events were contested, all for men. There were six weight classes in Greco-Roman wrestling and seven classes in freestyle wrestling. The Greco-Roman events were held from July 6 to July 10, 1924 and the freestyle competitions were held from July 11 to July 14, 1924.

Featherweight is a weight class in the combat sports of boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and Greco-Roman wrestling.
