Yemisi Ogunleye (born 3 October 1998) is a German shot putter. She won the silver medal at the 2024 World Indoor Championships with a personal best in the first round.

Career

Ogunleye finished 10th at the 2023 World Athletics Championships. At the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships, Ogunleye led the field after the first throw, and despite only throwing one more valid attempt she won the silver medal. [2]

Personal life

Ogunleye was born to a German mother and a Nigerian father and trains with the MTG Mannheim club in Germany. [1] [3] She is also a gospel singer. [2]
