The Fourteenth Nagaland Assembly is formed by the members elected in 2023 Nagaland Legislative Assembly election. Election were held in 59 constituencies on 27th February 2023 and 1 member elected unopposed from Akuluto. [1] Votes were counted on 2nd March 2023. [2] [3]

History

Incumbent North-East Democratic Alliance consists Bharatiya Janata Party and Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party again gained majority in the house after won 37 (25 NDPP + 12 BJP). [4] [5]

Hekani Jakhalu Kense from Dimapur III and Salhoutuonuo Kruse from Western Angami constituencies became first women MLAs in the history of Nagaland. Both get elected as NDPP candidates. [6] [7]

The elections to the 13th Nagaland State Legislative Assembly was held on 27th February 2018 in 59 out of its 60 constituencies, with one member elected unopposed. The counting of votes took place on 3rd March 2018. The incumbent Naga People's Front (NPF) lost the elections, while Chief minister T. R. Zeliang retained his seat. Former NPF leader, Neiphiu Rio joined the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) before the elections. Subsequently, with two-thirds majority in the assembly, the NDPP-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance formed the government with Rio as the new Chief Minister of Nagaland.

She was appointed the Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture in the 5th Rio ministry, making her also the first female cabinet minister in Nagaland. She previously served as a president of the Angami Women Organization.

He is the advisor on Home Guards, Civil Defence and Fire and Emergency Services, to the government of Nagaland.

G. Ikuto Zhimomi is an Indian politician from Nagaland. He is an MLA from Aghunato Assembly constituency, which is reserved for Scheduled Tribes, in Zunheboto District. He won the 2023 Nagaland Legislative Assembly election, representing Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party. He is the advisor for Land Resources to the government of Nagland.

Picto Shohe is an Indian politician from Nagaland. He is an MLA from Atoizu Assembly constituency, which is reserved for Scheduled Tribe community, in Zunheboto District. He won the 2023 Nagaland Legislative Assembly election, representing Nationalist Congress Party.
