César Augusto Gaviria Trujillo is a Colombian economist and politician who served as the President of Colombia from 1990 to 1994, Secretary General of the Organization of American States from 1994 to 2004 and National Director of the Colombian Liberal Party from 2005 to 2009. During his tenure as president, he summoned the Constituent Assembly of Colombia that enacted the Constitution of 1991.
Avianca Flight 203 was a Colombian domestic passenger flight from El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá to Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Cali, Colombia. It was destroyed by a bomb over the municipality of Soacha on November 27, 1989. All 107 people on board as well as three people on the ground were killed. The bombing had been ordered by the Medellín drug cartel.

Dandeny Muñoz Mosquera, also known as "La Quinta", is a former sicario for the Colombian Medellín Cartel, a prominent drug trafficking enterprise in Colombia in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was described at one point as the "chief assassin" for the Cartel's leader Pablo Escobar.

Rafael Núñez International Airport is an international airport serving the Caribbean port city of Cartagena, Colombia. It is the largest airport in the country's northern Caribbean region in terms of passenger movement. It is located between the Caribbean coast and the Ciénaga de la Virgen marsh, in the center of Crespo, a neighborhood in northern Cartagena. Carlos Pizarro Leongómez was a Colombian guerilla leader and politician who was the fourth commander of the 19th of April Movement. Pizarro oversaw the demobilization of M-19 that transformed the guerilla army into a political party, the M-19 Democratic Alliance (AD/M-19). Pizarro was assassinated on 26 April 1990 while running for the presidency of Colombia.
Bernardo Jaramillo Ossa was a Colombian politician and member of the Colombian Communist Party. Jaramillo started working primarily in the Urabá Antioquia region until 1987 when he assumed the presidency of the Patriotic Union Party (UP) after the assassination of Jaime Pardo.
Hernando Pizarro Leongómez, known as "Coroncoro," was a Colombian guerrilla fighter. He was the commander of the Ricardo Franco Command, the first dissident group of the FARC-EP. Together with José Fedor Rey, alias "Javier Delgado" or "The Monster of the Andes," he carried out the Tacueyó Massacre in Cauca. According to judicial investigations, 125 people were killed, although press reports from that time recorded 164 victims. Also nown for being the brother of the commander of the 19th of April Movement (M-19) Carlos Pizarro Leongómez and uncle of senator María José Pizarro.
