Bob and Mike Bryan were the defending champions, but lost in the third round to Leoš Friedl and Mikhail Youzhny.
The defending champions were Jonas Björkman and Max Mirnyi; however, they lost in the quarterfinals against Mahesh Bhupathi and Radek Štěpánek. Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor won the title, defeating ninth seeds Lukáš Dlouhý and Pavel Vizner in the final.
Jonas Björkman and Todd Woodbridge were the two-time defending champions but did not play together. Björkman partnered with Max Mirnyi and Woodbridge partnered with Mahesh Bhupathi but both pairs lost to Stephen Huss and Wesley Moodie, in the semifinals and the second round respectively.

In the final, they won against Juan Sebastián Cabal and Eduardo Schwank 7–6(7–3), 3–6, 6–4 for their first Grand Slam doubles title as a team.
