The 2007 Chinese Super League (CSL 2007) season or the Kingway brewery Chinese Super League as it was known for sponsorship reasons was the fourth edition since its establishment, the 14th season of professional football as well as being the 46th top-tier league season in China. Starting on March 3, 2007 and ending on November 14, 2007 it saw Changchun Yatai clinch the league title for the first time in the last game of the season, while Xiamen Lanshi was relegated with two games to spare. Coincidentally, both of these teams were promoted in the previous season.

The champions as well as the runner-up of the league would qualify for the AFC Champions League 2008 as was the same from the previous season. The Chinese FA Cup was canceled due to the intended expansion of the league to 16 teams, however Shanghai United F.C. and Shanghai Shenhua merged, which saw the Chinese Football Association decide to leave the league with 15 teams for the season.

Pre-season change

As Zhu Jun, the owner of Shanghai United F.C. bought a majority share of their crosstown rival. The 7th placed team of the previous season, Shanghai United was merged into two times CSL runner-up Shanghai Shenhua. The new team play under the name Shanghai Shenhua United but use the stadium of the former Shanghai UnitedYuanshen Sports Centre Stadium in Pudong, Shanghai as their home ground.

The Chinese Football Association Super League, commonly known as the Chinese Super League or the CSL, currently known as the China Ping An Chinese Football Association Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the highest tier of professional football in China, operating under the auspices of the Chinese Football Association (CFA). Tianjin Jinmen Tiger Football Club, previously Tianjin TEDA, is a Chinese professional football club based in Tianjin, that competes in the Chinese Super League, the top tier of Chinese football. The 2005 Chinese Super League season was the second season of China's top-tier football competition. With no relegation the previous season, the league expanded from 12 to 14 clubs with the promotion of Shanghai Zobon and Wuhan Huanghelou. The season was scheduled to start on 5 March 2005, but was postponed until April due to a sponsorship problem and finished on 5 November with Dalian Shide, seven-time champions in the old first division, clinching their eighth title. Defending champions Shenzhen Jianlibao finished third from bottom, the second consecutive year in which the defending champions has done so.

The 2006 Chinese Super League was the third season since the establishment of the Chinese Football Association Super League, also known as Chinese Super League, the thirteen season of professional association football league and the 45th top-tier league season in China. The premier football league in China under the auspices of the Chinese Football Association the season started on March 11, 2006, and ended on October 22, where it was planned that would be two teams relegated at the end of the season, however this was changed to one when Sichuan First City folded before the start of the season.

The 2011 Chinese Super League was the eighth season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League, the eighteenth season of a professional association football league and the 50th top-tier league season in China. Guangzhou Evergrande F.C. clinched their first ever Chinese Super League title on September 28, 2011.

The 2011 Guangzhou Evergrande season is the 58th year in Guangzhou Evergrande's existence and its 44th season in the Chinese football league, also its 22nd season in the top flight. The club was promoted from China League One at the end of the 2010 season.

The 2012 Guangzhou Evergrande season is the 59th year in Guangzhou Evergrande's existence and is its 45th season in the Chinese football league, also its 23rd season in the top flight. The club played in the AFC Champions League for the first time in club's history after winning the league title in the 2011 season.

The 2012 Tianjin Teda F.C. season was the club's 9th season in the Chinese Super League, and 44th season in China's top flight. They started the season with Josip Kuže as manager, before replacing him with Alexandre Guimarães halfway through the season. Domestically they finished the season in 8th place, reached the Fourth Round of the FA Cup and were runners-up in the Super Cup. Tianjin Teda also participated in the AFC Champions League, where they were placed in a group with Seongnam, Nagoya Grampus and Central Coast Mariners, they finished bottom of the group with 3 points.

The 2012 Beijing Guoan F.C. season was their 9th consecutive season in the Chinese Super League, established in 2004 season. They competed in the AFC Champions League and Chinese FA Cup, getting knocked out in both competitions.

The 2012 Changchun Yatai F.C. season is Changchun's 7th consecutive season in the Chinese Super League. Changchun will also be competing in the Chinese FA Cup.

The 2013 Chinese Super League was the tenth season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League, the 20th season of a professional football league and the 52nd top-tier league season in China. Guangzhou Evergrande won their third consecutive title with an 18-point advantage ahead of runners-up Shandong Luneng.

The 2015 Ping An Chinese Football Association Super League was the 12th season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League, the 22nd season of a professional Association football league and the 54th top-tier league season in China. The league title sponsor was Ping An Insurance. Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao won their fifth consecutive title of the league.

This season Yatai moved back to Changchun Stadium, where they won their first league title in 2007, as the club's home ground, after spending 9 seasons at Development Area Stadium.

The 2019 Ping An Chinese Football Association Super League was the 16th season since the establishment of the Chinese Super League. The league title sponsor was Ping An Insurance. The season began on 1 March and ended on 1 December. Shanghai SIPG were the defending champions.

The 2020 Chinese Football Association Cup, officially known as the Yanjing Beer 2020 Chinese FA Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 22nd edition of the Chinese FA Cup. It was postponed following the COVID-19 pandemic in mainland China. On 2 September 2020, Chinese Football Association announced that Chinese FA Cup would resume on 18 September 2020.
