The Gopher power play (which included Gigi Marvin and Rachael Drazan), ranked first in the WCHA and third in the nation with a 24.5 conversion percentage. Gigi Marvin led the league in power-play points with 24.
On the power play, Drazan tied for third in the conference in power-play points with 13. Her first points as a Gopher came in a game against Northeastern on October 5. She had a goal and an assist. On November 3, she scored a goal and an assist in the Gophers' 3-2 victory over Wisconsin. From Nov. 18-Jan. 5, Drazan held a season-high eight-game scoring streak. During said streak, she notched nine points. She set a career-best three points in the 7-3 defeat of Ohio State on February 8. [3]
Marvin tallied two assists in wins over Northeastern (10/5) and against then-No. 1 ranked Minnesota Duluth (10/27). She also had four-point performances against Bemidji State (11/30) and Minnesota State (12/7). On February 8, Marvin scored two goals and two assists in three shots in the 7-3 win over Ohio State. The following day, she had a three-point performance against the Buckeyes for a season-high seven points in the series sweep. In the 5-0 win over Bemidji State on November 30, Marvin established her 100th-career point. At season's end, she had 57 goals and 81 assists for 138 points in 114 games played. From Jan. 18-Feb. 16, she held a 10-game scoring streak from and produced 19 point. [6]

The 2009–10 Minnesota Golden Gophers women's hockey team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's hockey season. The Golden Gophers were coached by Brad Frost and played their home games at Ridder Arena. The University of Minnesota hosted the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Ice hockey Tournament's championship game on March 21, 2010 at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis. It marked the third time that Minneapolis hosted the Frozen Four. The Golden Gophers are a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and attempted to win their fourth NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Championship.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey team plays for the University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis. The team is one of the members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in Division I. The Golden Gophers have won six NCAA Championships as well as the final American Women's College Hockey Alliance Championship. In the WCHA, they have also been regular season champions 11 times and tournament champions 7 times. In addition to their overall success as a competitive team, the Gophers have also been ranked in the nation's top two teams for attendance since becoming a varsity sport, and the team holds the second largest single-game attendance record for women's collegiate hockey, drawing 6,854 fans for the first Minnesota women's hockey game on November 2, 1997. The team also holds the distinction of having the longest winning streak in women's or men's college hockey at 62 games from February 17, 2012 to November 17, 2013, winning back-to-back NCAA titles during the stretch.
Gisele Marie "Gigi" Marvin is an American ice hockey player for PWHL Boston of the Professional Women's Hockey League. As a member of the United States national women's ice hockey team, Marvin won a silver medal at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and the 2014 Winter Olympics, and a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Her grandfather is Cal Marvin, the coach of the 1958 United States Men's National Ice Hockey Team and the manager of the 1965 United States Men's National Ice Hockey Team, is a member of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. She hails from Warroad, Minnesota.
The 2008-09 WCHA hockey season was the tenth season of WCHA women's play. Since its inception, WCHA teams have won the national championship every season. The defending NCAA champions were the WCHA's Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.

In the 1999-2000 season, the Golden Gophers ice hockey team from the University of Minnesota won its first women’s national team title at the AWCHA National Championship. Nadine Muzerall scored the game-winning goal in the 4-2 national championship win over Brown Bears and earned all-tournament honors with three goals and an assist in two games. For the season, Muzerall owned totals of 49 goals, 28 assists and 77 points.
Nadine Muzerall is a Canadian former ice hockey player and current coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes women's ice hockey team. While attending the University of Minnesota as a student, she became their all-time leader with 139 career goals, including a record 40 power-play goals. She was also a member of the inaugural team of University of Minnesota women's hockey.

The Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey team represented the University of Wisconsin. The team finished the season by winning the school's fourth NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Championship. Senior captain, Meghan Duggan, was awarded the 2011 Patty Kazmaier Award.

Sarah Potomak is a Canadian ice hockey player who competed with the Under-18 Canadian national women's hockey team. She made her debut with the Canada women's national ice hockey team at the 2015 4 Nations Cup, held in November 2015 in Sundsvall, Sweden. Along with her sister Amy Potomak, they are the first sister duo named to the roster of Canada's national women's ice hockey team. The two played together in a two-game series against the United States national women's ice hockey team in December 2016.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program represented the University of Minnesota during the 2015-16 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The program advanced to the Frozen Four championship game for the fifth consecutive year and defeated the Boston College Eagles by a 3–1 tally in the title game.
Taylor Matson is an American professional ice hockey player currently playing for HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He was drafted 176th overall by Vancouver Canucks in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning professional, Matson spent four years at the University of Minnesota and in the American Hockey League (AHL) and ECHL.
Grace Zumwinkle is an American ice hockey player for PWHL Minnesota of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college ice hockey at Minnesota. She represented the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Taylor Heise is an American women's ice hockey forward for PWHL Minnesota of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played college ice hockey at Minnesota where she won the Patty Kazmaier Award in 2022. She is also a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was drafted first overall in the 2023 PWHL Draft.
