2010 Trans-Am Series

The 2010 Trans-Am Series was the 42nd season of the SCCA's Trans-Am Series. It began on May 8 and ran for ten rounds. [1] Chevrolet nearly swept the season, with Jaguar winning the opening round at New Jersey. 2010 was also the first Trans Am season since 2002 in which an American manufacturer won the championship.

Dorsey Alan Schroeder is an American race car driver. Since August 2015, he has served as Race Director for the Pirelli World Challenge series and since 2018 Race Director for the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli SCCA Pro Racing. Over the course of his career in Sports car racing, he has won 40 professional races in 242 starts, including seventeen Trans-Am series wins. He also oversees the competition on-track at HSR events and enjoys racing vintage cars.

Claudio Burtin is an American entrepreneur, chemist, and race car driver. He is the founder of LINE-X truck bed liners and is credited with the original formulations trademarking LINE-X. Born in Argentina, Burtin moved to the U.S. in the summer of 1963. He attended Our Lady of the Valley Catholic elementary school in the Los Angeles school district in southern California. He began working for his father at Chemetics Systems Inc. in Compton, CA at the age of fifteen while attending Servite High School in Anaheim. He apprenticed in polyurethane chemistry under his father, Carlos Burtin, a licensed chemist.

Amy Ruman is an American racing driver. She is a two-time champion of the Trans-Am Series, at its top level, "TA," which completed its 50th anniversary season in 2016. She is also the only female to win the series championship. Ruman is an Ohio native and a graduate of Kent State University.

Melvin D. Shaw was an American racing driver. Shaw raced in various series and races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona. Shaw died in a crash at Brainerd International Raceway.

Gerald Jon 'Jerry' Hansen is a former racing driver. Hansen has won a record of 27 SCCA National Championships. Hansen has also competed in Can-Am, the Atlantic Championship, USAC ChampCar among other series.
