The 2013 Trans-Am Series was the 45th running of the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series.
The GGT class of the previous year was replaced by the TA3 class. The TA3 class was later broken into two groups TA3-International, based on SCCA GT2 rules, and TA3-American Muscle, based on NASA American Iron Racing class rules, with year and model restrictions. [1]

On December 21, 2012, Trans Am announced that the Ford Mustang would be added to the TA2 class, first introduced in 2010. [2]

Sports car racing is a form of motorsport road racing which utilises sports cars that have two seats and enclosed wheels. They may be purpose-built prototypes or grand tourers based on road-going models. Broadly speaking, sports car racing is one of the main types of circuit auto racing, alongside open-wheel single-seater racing, touring car racing and stock car racing. Sports car races are often, though not always, endurance races that are run over particularly long distances or large amounts of time, resulting in a larger emphasis on the reliability and efficiency of the car and its drivers as opposed to outright car performance or driver skills. The FIA World Endurance Championship is an example of a sports car racing series.
The Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli is a sports car racing series held in North America. Founded in 1966, it is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Primarily based in the United States, the series competes on a variety of track types including road courses and street circuits. Trans-Am is split into the TA and TA2 classes for silhouette racing cars, while its production classes are the GT, SGT, and XGT.
Lime Rock Park is a natural-terrain motorsport road racing venue located in Lakeville, Connecticut, United States, a hamlet in the town of Salisbury, in the state's northwest corner. Built in 1956, it is the nation's third oldest continuously operating road racing venue, behind Road America (1955) and Willow Springs International Motorsports Park (1953). The track is owned by Skip Barber, a former race car driver who started the Skip Barber Racing School in 1975. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
Road Atlanta is a 2.540 mi (4.088 km) road course located just north of Braselton, Georgia, United States. The facility is utilized for a wide variety of events, including professional and amateur sports car and motorcycle races, racing and driving schools, corporate programs and testing for motorsports teams. The track has 12 turns, including the famous "esses" between turns three and five; and Turn 12, a downhill, diving turn. The track is owned by IMSA Holdings, LLC through its subsidiary Road Atlanta, LLC, and is the home to the Petit Le Mans, as well as AMA motorcycle racing, and smaller events throughout the year. Michelin acquired naming rights to the facility in 2018.
The 2011 Trans-Am Series was the 43rd season of the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series, a class of racing that straddles the line between sports car and stock car auto racing.
Christopher Dyson is an American professional racing driver who competed in the American Le Mans Series for Dyson Racing from 2002 to 2013. He is currently competing in the Trans-Am Series in the TA class under the CD Racing banner where he just clinched his second consecutive TA championship (2021-2022). The son of team owner Rob Dyson, Chris is a two-time ALMS champion, having taken the LMP675 Drivers title in 2003 and earning the LMP1 Championship in 2011. He is the Vice President and Sporting Director of Dyson Racing.
SCCA Pro Racing is the pro racing division of the Sports Car Club of America. SCCA Pro Racing was formed in 1963, the company is a fully owned subsidiary of SCCA.
The IMSA SportsCar Championship, currently known as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship under sponsorship, is a sports car racing series based in the United States and Canada and organized by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). It is a result of a merger between two existing North American sports car racing series, the American Le Mans Series and Rolex Sports Car Series. At its inception, the name was United SportsCar Championship, which subsequently changed to IMSA SportsCar Championship in 2016. Rolex SA's Tudor brand was the championship's title sponsor in 2014 and 2015, and since 2016 WeatherTech has served as title sponsor.
Paul Fix II is an American racecar driver based in Williamsville, New York, United States. He has been competing in the SCCA Professional Trans-Am Series since 2000.
The 2014 Trans-Am Series was the 46th running of the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series. It began March 2, 2014. The series featured TA, TA2, and TA3 groups, with TA3 split into two sub-groups. TA3-International was for select cars meeting SCCA GT-2 class rules, while TA3-American Muscle was for current-generation "pony cars" meeting NASA's American Iron class specifications.
Cameron Lawrence is an American professional racing driver and 2015 North American Endurance Cup (NAEC) champion in the GTD class in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Natalie Marie Decker is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 53 car for Emerling-Gase Motorsports in both series. She has also previously competed in the NASCAR Truck Series and the Trans-Am Series.

Mel Shaw was an American racing driver. Shaw raced in various series and races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona. Shaw died in a crash at Brainerd International Raceway.
The 2018 Trans-Am Series season was the fiftieth running of the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series. It began on March 2 at Sebring International Raceway and ran for twelve rounds.

Kyle Kelley is an American professional sports car racing driver in the Trans-Am Series' TA2 class. He has also raced in NASCAR, competing in the Nationwide Series from 2010 to 2013 as a road course ringer.
The 2021 Trans-Am Series season was the 53rd running of the Trans-Am Series. The National Championship began on February 19 and will run for 14 rounds with one being only for TA2 cars and two only paying points for the Pro/Am Challenge. The Pro/Am Challenge was held for the first time to help SCCA competitors try out Trans Am. Points were given for two specific Pro/Am Challenge races and four other races of competitor's choice in either the national Trans Am Series or the Trans Am West Coast Championship. A separate West Coast Championship was also held with some rounds separate from the national series and some together.
