The 2021 Trans-Am Series season was the 53rd running of the Trans-Am Series. The National Championship began on February 19 and will run for 14 rounds with one being only for TA2 cars and two only paying points for the Pro/Am Challenge. [1] The Pro/Am Challenge was held for the first time to help SCCA competitors try out Trans Am. [2] Points were given for two specific Pro/Am Challenge races and four other races of competitor's choice in either the national Trans Am Series or the Trans Am West Coast Championship. A separate West Coast Championship was also held with some rounds separate from the national series and some together.

A 15-round preliminary schedule was released on October 19, 2020 ahead of the final two rounds of the 2020 season. The schedule represented a return to normality after the Coronavirus outbreak heavily impacted the 2020 season. Trans-Am will be having its first ever race at the newly renovated Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval and a TA2-only round at the inaugural running of the Music City Grand Prix on the streets of Nashville. [8] No double-headers are scheduled to return following their appearances in 2020; however, all tracks that were featured on the preliminary 2020 calendar are scheduled for 2021 as well. For the first time in series history, Trans-Am is instituting a drop-round system where competitors can choose to drop their two worst round results including non-appearances that took place before August 1. [9] On April 30, Trans-Am announced that the scheduled round at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park had been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic, replaced by an additional round at the following Watkins Glen International meeting. When only one driver is entered in a class, half of the point value is awarded; if two drivers then 60% points, if three then 70% points, if four then 85% points. If there are fewer than three drivers, qualifying points are not awarded. If there are fewer than five drivers, lap leading points are not awarded.
Pro/Am Challenge drivers cannot earn points for the National Championship or West Coast and vice versa. Pro/Am Challenge points are counted for the two Pro/Am Challenge races as well as four National Championship or West Coast Championship events of each competitor's choice. One of the Pro/Am Challenge races was held in combination with a West Coast Championship race, however the results and classification were separate.
Awards are given to the highest ranked Master and Rookie drivers in each class. The Master classification is given to drivers over 60 years old while the Rookie classification is for drivers competing in their first full year. Some drivers may be eligible for both.
In the National Championship, each driver's worst two round results including non-appearances before August 1st are dropped.

The Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli is a sports car racing series held in North America. Founded in 1966, it is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Primarily based in the United States, the series competes on a variety of track types including road courses and street circuits. Trans-Am is split into the TA and TA2 classes for silhouette racing cars, while its production classes are the GT, SGT, and XGT.
Carl Rydquist is a Swedish-American FIA Silver and Trans-Am racing driver and a SAG-AFTRA licensed stunt and precision driver who has won many auto races and racing championships. Rydquist gained notoriety for his speed in 2001 when he beat more than 1100 enthusiasts and professional racedrivers in a gocart challenge created by Eurosport to promote their Super Racing Weekend FIA GT and ETCC sports coverage. The event propelled him to his first GT Endurance ride with Apex Racing's Porsche. Rydquist actively competes in racing and has competed in professional drifting. In Rydquist's auto racing career, he currently has a victory in more than one third of his races and podium finishes in three out of four Touring and GT car endurance and sprint races.
Paul Fix II is an American racecar driver based in Williamsville, New York, United States. He has been competing in the SCCA Professional Trans-Am Series since 2000.
The 2014 Trans-Am Series was the 46th running of the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series. It began March 2, 2014. The series featured TA, TA2, and TA3 groups, with TA3 split into two sub-groups. TA3-International was for select cars meeting SCCA GT-2 class rules, while TA3-American Muscle was for current-generation "pony cars" meeting NASA's American Iron class specifications.
Pirelli Tires presents the Pacific F2000 Championship is an American open-wheel racing series designed for the entry-level driver and is a part of the Road to Indy. The Pacific F2000 Racing Series offers 15 racing opportunities over six weekends at leading West Coast venues such as WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Sonoma Raceway, Buttonwillow Raceway Park and Thunderhill Raceway Park. The Pacific F2000 Racing series is designed to be the next step up for F1600 drivers with the introduction of wings, increased power, and larger racing tires. The suspension geometry of a modern F2000 car is as sophisticated as those in many more well known races and offers great training for drivers, engineers and mechanics. Because formula and not spec cars are used there are numerous chassis designs, multiple motors allowed, and as a result there is also great opportunity to test new designs.. At the same time, there are enough restrictions to keep costs in check. F2000 originated in England in 1974 and has helped spawn the careers of many of the sport’s top names. In North America, its alumni include Sam Hornish Jr., Buddy Rice, Paul Tracy, Jimmy Vasser, and Dan Wheldon. Graduates of PacificF2000 Racing since its inception in 2004 include J.R. Hildebrand, who won the 2009 Firestone Indy Lights Championship and drove the No. 4 National Guard car in the IZOD IndyCar Series; two-time IMSA prototype champion Dane Cameron; Jason Bowles, who won the 2011 NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway; and Thomas Merrill, 2022 Trans-Am TA2 Champion.
The 2016 Pirelli World Challenge was the 27th running of the Sports Car Club of America's World Challenge series. Johnny O'Connell was the defending champion in the highest class, the GT class.
Sheldon Michael Creed is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 18 Toyota Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing.
Tony Buffomante is an American racing driver. Buffomante won the Star Mazda championship in 1997. Currently Buffomante has been competing in the Trans-Am Series' TA2 class since 2013, and won the championship in 2016.
Cameron Lawrence is an American professional racing driver and 2015 North American Endurance Cup (NAEC) champion in the GTD class in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The 2017 Trans-Am Series was the 49th running of the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series, and consisted of 13 races. The Detroit race was for TA and TA2 only, and the Circuit of the Americas race was a shared race.
The 2018 Trans-Am Series season was the fiftieth running of the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series. It began on March 2 at Sebring International Raceway and ran for twelve rounds.
