CurlON is the governing body of curling in Southern Ontario. Northern Ontario is governed by the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA). The CurlON sends a team to represent Team Ontario at all major Canadian Championships. The NOCA sends a separate team to all of these events.
The Ontario Tankard is the Southern Ontario provincial championship for men's curling. The winner represents Team Ontario at the Montana's Brier. The tournament is overseen by CurlON.
The 2009 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships was held January 31-February 8 at the Sunwave Centre and the Salmon Arm Curling Club in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. The winning teams of Prince Edward Island's Brett Gallant in the men's event and Manitoba's Kaitlyn Lawes in the women's event would go on to represent Canada at the 2009 World Junior Curling Championships in Vancouver.
The 2008 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships was held February 2–10 at the Soo Curlers Association and Tarentorous Curling Club in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The winning teams represented Canada at the 2008 World Junior Curling Championships.
The 2010 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships was held January 16–24 at the Colisée Cardin and at the Club Curling Aurèle-Racine in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec.
The 2007 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships was held February 3–11 at the Jack Gatecliff Arena and the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club in St. Catharines, Ontario. The winning teams represented Canada at the 2007 World Junior Curling Championships.
The 2012 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held from February 4 to 12 at the Strathcona Paper Centre and the Napanee & District Curling Club in Napanee, Ontario. The winners, the Albertan teams skipped by Brendan Bottcher and Jocelyn Peterman, represented Canada at the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships in Östersund, Sweden.
The 2006 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held at the Fort William Curling Club and the Port Arthur Curling Club in Thunder Bay, Ontario from January 21 to 29. The winning teams represented Canada at the 2006 World Junior Curling Championships.
The 2013 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held from January 31 to February 10 at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre at MacDonald Island Park and at the Oilsands Curling Club in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Alberta last hosted the junior championships in Calgary in 2011. The winners will represent Canada at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships in Sochi, Russia.
The 2014 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held from January 18 to 26 at the Queens Place Emera Centre and the Liverpool Curling Club. The winners represented Canada at the 2014 World Junior Curling Championships in Flims, Switzerland.
Mark Brian Homan is a Canadian curler from Ottawa. He is the brother of the 2013 and 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion skip Rachel Homan, and currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. He is a former provincial junior men's and provincial mixed champion.
The 1979 Macdonald Brier, the Canadian men's curling championship was held from March 4 to 10, 1979 at the Ottawa Civic Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. For the second straight year, the total attendance for the week set a then-record where 89,081 attended the event. This was the last Brier where the round robin would determine the champion without a playoff.
The 2015 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held from January 24 to February 1 at the Corner Brook Civic Centre and the Corner Brook Curling Club. The winners represented Canada at the 2015 World Junior Curling Championships in Tallinn, Estonia.
The 2003 Kärcher Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held February 1–9 at the Rideau and Ottawa Curling Clubs in Ottawa. Teams from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan won both the men's and women's event. Both teams would go on to win gold medals for Canada at the 2003 World Junior Curling Championships. The men's event was won by the Steve Laycock rink from the Sutherland Curling Club, while the women's event was won by the Marliese Miller rink from the Nutana Curling Club.
David Seth "Splash" Mathers is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He currently plays second for the Glenn Howard rink.

The 2000 Kärcher Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held February 5–13 at the Beausejour Curling Club in Moncton, New Brunswick. The winning teams represented Canada at the 2000 World Junior Curling Championships.
