The 2011 World Wheelchair Curling Championship was held in Prague, Czech Republic from February 22 - March 1, 2011. [1] Ten mixed gender teams competed for four playoff spots. In the final, Canada's Jim Armstrong defeated Scotland's Aileen Neilson in the final in 7 ends. Teams also gained qualification points from this event for the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi. [1]
Two teams outside of the top seven finishers qualified from a qualifying event held in November 2010 in Lohja, Finland.

The 2011 World Women's Curling Championship was held in Esbjerg, Denmark at the Granly Hockey Arena from March 19–27, 2011. The Swedish rink skipped by Anette Norberg won the final game over Canada's Amber Holland after a steal of two points in the tenth end.
The 2011 World Men's Curling Championship was held in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada from April 2–10, 2011. In the final, Jeff Stoughton skipped the Canadian rink to a 6–5 victory over Scotland's Tom Brewster. The gold medal was Stoughton's second and Canada's 33rd gold medal at the world.
The 2012 World Women's Curling Championship was held at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta from March 17 to 25. It marked the 12th time that Canada has hosted the World Women's Curling Championship. The 2012 World Women's Championship was one of the curling events that is a qualifier for the curling tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The qualification event of the 2012 World Wheelchair Curling Championship was held from November 5 to 10, 2011 at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland, which hosted the qualification event for last year's World Wheelchair Championships. The event's two top finishers, Slovakia and Italy, qualified for the main tournament in Chuncheon City, South Korea.

The 2020 Swiss Women's Curling Championship, Switzerland's national women's curling championship, was held from February 9 to 15 in Thun, Switzerland. The winning Elena Stern team was supposed to represent Switzerland at the 2020 World Women's Curling Championship at the CN Centre in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada but the event got cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 World Wheelchair Curling Championship was held at the Curling Hall Wetzikon in Wetzikon, Switzerland from February 29 to March 7.

The top three placing teams qualified for the 2021 World Wheelchair Curling Championship in Beijing, China. The United States won the gold medal, defeating the previously undefeated Switzerland 4–3 in the final. Italy took the bronze medal and final berth at the 2021 World Championship with an 8–4 win over Germany in the bronze medal game.
The 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Pre-Trials were held from October 25 to 31 at the Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. The event qualified two teams for the 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The 2022 World Women's Curling Championship was held from March 19 to 27 at the CN Centre in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. Prince George was originally chosen to host the 2020 World Women's Curling Championship, but the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2022 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship was held from April 23 to 30 at the Curling Club Trois-Chêne in the Geneva Sous-Moulin Sports Center in Thônex, a suburb of Geneva, Switzerland. The event was held alongside the 2022 World Senior Curling Championships. Eve Muirhead and Bobby Lammie of Scotland went undefeated the entire event, beating home team Alina Pätz and Sven Michel of Switzerland 9-7 in the final to win the gold medal.
