The 2010 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic was held from October 8 to 11 at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary, Alberta. It was the 33rd edition of the event, and it marked the fifth time that the event was held as a Grand Slam event. The total purse of the event was CAD$52,000. The event featured 32 teams, six from outside Canada. The teams played in a triple knockout format, followed by a playoff round for the eight qualifiers from the knockout round.
The winning team was the Chinese national team (skipped by Wang Bingyu), which received CAD$14,000 in prize money. They defeated Desirée Owen in the final. It was the first time ever that a non-Canadian team won a Grand Slam event in either a men's or women's slam.

The Players' Championship, currently known as the Princess Auto Players' Championship for sponsorship reasons, is the final event of the Grand Slam of Curling tour, and is formerly the championship of the World Curling Tour season.
The Grand Slam of Curling is a series of curling bonspiels that were formerly part of the annual World Curling Tour. Grand Slam events offer a purse of at least CAD$100,000, and feature the best teams from across Canada and around the World. The Grand Slam was instituted during the 2001–02 season for men and 2006–07 for women, but some of the Grand Slam events have longer histories as bonspiels.
Lori Olson, better known as Lori Olson-Johns is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. From 2014–2018, she played third for Val Sweeting and with Sweeting, finished runner-up at the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and won two grand slam events.

The men's Tier II games and playoffs qualifiers was held at the Brant Curling Club, while the women's Tier II games and playoffs qualifiers was held at the Paris Curling Club and the Brantford Golf & Curling Club. It was held as the first Grand Slam event on the men's tour and the fourth on the women's tour.

The event was the second men's Grand Slam event of the season. The event was held in a round robin format, and the purse for the event was CAD$100,000. In the final, Glenn Howard won his second Canadian Open title and his eleventh Grand Slam title with a win over Brad Jacobs, clinching the victory with a score of 3–1 after a steal in the final end.

Elisabeth Fyfe is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is a two-time Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion. She was also a Canadian Junior Curling Champion having won the 2008 Canadian Junior Championships as a second on the Kaitlyn Lawes team. Fyfe is the daughter of former Brier champion Vic Peters.

Two days before the event was supposed to begin on Monday, April 12, the organizers delayed its start time by one day due to the (false) positive COVID-19 tests from the 2021 World Men's Curling Championship, which was held at the same site from April 2–11.
