The 2012 Wrexham County Borough Council election took place on 3 May 2012 to elect members of Wrexham County Borough Council in Wales. [1] This was on the same day as other 2012 United Kingdom local elections. The previous all-council elections took place in 2008 and the next elections took place in May 2017.
Prior to the election no party or group had overall control. The council had been run by an all-party coalition. [2]
No group gained a majority after the election, though Labour gained 10 seats while the Liberal Democrats lost seven seats, [2] [3] including that of their group leader, Ron Davies, who was also leader of the council. Labour planned to discuss forming a coalition with the Independents. [3]

Aberdeen City Council is the local government authority for the city of Aberdeen, Scotland. It was created in 1996, under the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994, though a sense of Aberdeen as a city, with its own city council, can be traced back to 1900, when the county of the city of Aberdeen was created.

It has a population of 320,600 (2021), and encompasses 62.1 square miles (160.9 km2) of the northern part of the Wirral Peninsula. Normally these elections take place every four years, but the 2017 elections were postponed for a year in order to avoid clashing with the 2016 Welsh Assembly election, which itself had been postponed by a year to avoid clashing with the 2015 general election.
